Ana, a circus performer in Madrid, is famous as a horseback-riding sharpshooter. She begins a love affair with Marcos, a journalist and member of her social group. Eventually the time comes when they both must leave Madrid in order to pursue their work. Marcos and Ana arrange one last evening together, but the night before their meeting, Ana is violently raped by three young men. She kills each one and runs off to the countryside. There, Ana takes several hostages and her crisis deepens.

A young man is about to get married, which means that his "parents" -- gay nightclub owner Renato and effeminate transvestite Zaza -- must meet his pompous and conservative in-laws. For the sake of their son, the gay couple decide not only to act straight, but to pose as husband and wife! On the night of the party however, insanity reigns when "mom" and "dad" fail to adhere to the "straight" and narrow.

Set in the third century B.C, in the heart of the Chinese Kingdoms, this epic tale from Kaige Chen is a visually stunning feast. The Emperor and the Assassin centers on two lovers: Lady Zhao (Gong Li) and her lord Ying Zheng (Li Xuejian), whose most fervent desire is to conquer all of China. His strategy is to make himself seem invincible, so he sends Zhao to the Kingdom of Han to hire an assassin to kill Ying. The assassin will naturally fail. Once in Han, Zhao begins to see just how ruthless her lover truly is. She and the prospective killer Jing Ke (Fengyi Zhang) have begun to fall in love and together they plan to assassinate the mad monarch. Powerful and beautifully shot, this story is a must-see for any fan of gripping historical epics.

Synopsis:
