I will admit, I have fallen into the Ryan Gosling craze. After amazing performances in "The Ides of March" and "Crazy Stupid Love" this year, I decided I need to go back and look at some of his earlier performances. This movie, "Fracture" was one of the movies that intrigued me the most. It was one of his bigger movies, and it features the legend Anthony Hopkins in one of his signature villain roles. I am glad I checked it out, cause I was extremely happy with the movie. It has intrigue and suspense and mystery that all good legal thrillers need. Ryan Gosling is good in this like I had hoped. He shows his charisma in this movie, and its great to see his potential as a leading man. Anthony Hopkins kind of steals the show from Gosling though. he has to go down as one of the best villain actors of all time. he creates a character who is charming yet scheming, happy yet menacing. You have to love it when Hopkins really digs into a role. Other minor character played by David Strathairn and Rosamund Pike have good moments but neither need to do much. Gosling and Hopkins carry the majority of the movie. Overall, a very entertaining movie, featuring two different actor in two completely different stages of there careers.
