Synopsis:

From the studio that brought you Sweet Home Alabama comes the extraordinary romantic comedy starring Academy Award nominee Diane Lane (2002 Best Actress, Unfaithful). Based on the #1 New York Times best-selling book, Under the Tuscan Sun follows San Francisco writer Frances Mayes (Lane) to Italy as a good friend offers her a special gift -- 10 days in Tuscany. Once there, she is captivated by its beauty and warmth, and impulsively buys an aging, but very charming, villa. Fully embracing new friends and local color, she finds herself immersed in a life-changing adventure filled with enough unexpected surprises, laughter, friendship, and romance to restore her new home -- and her belief in second chances.

From the Studio:

The Hours is the story of three women searching for more potent, meaningful lives. Each is alive at a different time and place; all are linked by their yearnings and their fears.

Virginia Woolf (Nicole Kidman), in a suburb of London in the early 1920s, is battling insanity as she begins to write her first great novel, Mrs. Dalloway.

Laura Brown (Julianne Moore), a wife and mother in Los Angeles at the end of World War II, is reading Mrs. Dalloway and finding it so revelatory that she begins to consider making a devastating change in her life.

Clarissa Vaughn (Meryl Streep), a contemporary version of Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway, lives in New York City today, and is in love with her friend, Richard, a brilliant poet who is dying of AIDS.

Their stories intertwine and finally come together in a surprising, transcendent moment of shared recognition.

Often considered one of the best romantic comedies ever put to film, this instant classic came alive under the deftly charming touch of star Audrey Hepburn. She plays a flighty social butterfly called Holly Golightly who makes a living dating rich gentlemen... even though it costs her any truly defining sense of self-worth. George Peppard stars as an aspiring writer who just happens to be her upstairs neighbour. Like Holly, he has dreams of independence but finds his lucrative relationship with hard-bitten Patricia Neal to be just too comfortable. When Holly comes face-to-face with her troubling past and the young writer is there to comfort her, they both discover a depth of feeling that neither expects. Hopeful, thoughtful, beautiful and jubilant, Breakfast At Tiffany`s is a romantic-comedy classic that is as timeless now as it was upon its first release in 1961.

Adapted from John Irving's best-selling novel, "The World According to Garp" follows the very unusual life of one T.S. Garp. Conceived in a hospital room by the independent, strong-willed Jenny Fields (who makes sure to choose a father who can never interfere with her decisions), Garp grows up in the placid academic atmosphere of the exclusive New England boy's school where Jenny works. As Garp becomes a man, the film shifts between the events that shape his world, and those that shape his mother's. While Garp follows a "normal" path -- marrying, becoming a father, and establishing himself as an author and teacher -- Jenny continues to make extraordinary decisions and ally herself with a very strange group of characters. And through it all, Jenny remains a powerful, inescapable influence on her son...

Tom is a charismatic late-night radio talk show host whose unconventional upbringing has made him a little too quick to fall in love and marry. Fay is an academic whose expectations are impossibly high as a result of the living perfection that is her parents' marriage.

This unlikely pairing proves the rule that, in love, there are no rules. They meet, they fall in love. But a series of events puts strain on their ties to each other and they are thrown into turmoil.

The characters connect in a maze of mall, condos and family homes, underpinning the idea that 'geography is destiny' and that each of us has our own 'republic', where lives intersect.

THE REPUBLIC OF LOVE is a warm story of love and enchantment set in the coldest of winters and explores the issues, dilemmas and barriers facing the lucky and unlucky in love in the 21st Century.

Once upon a time, a crusty old grandfather told his bedridden grandson a tongue-in-cheek fairy tale... In the mythical kingdom of Florin, farm boy Westley rides off one day to make his fortune, leaving his true love Buttercup waiting patiently behind. Unfortunately, his ship is beset by pirates, and Buttercup grieves for many years, believing Westley dead. She reluctantly agrees to marry Prince Humperdinck, knowing that she will never love him. Humperdinck has his own plans for the marriage: he intends to have Buttercup kidnapped and murdered in order to set off a border war that will strengthen his power. But she is rescued by a mysterious pirate, who turns out to be Westley in disguise. Their reunion does not last long, however, and the pair must face numerous obstacles before they can live happily ever after.
