'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' is the first installment
in a series of movies based on J.K. Rowling's best-selling set of
novels. In her books, Rowling tells of mystical land of wizards and
witches, mischievous ghosts, three-headed dogs, goblins, dragons,
and golden balls that zoom through the air. The task of visually
transforming such a world is daunting, yet none of the magic is
lost in this brilliant screen adaptation.
The film features and all-star cast of British actors as
professors, villains and muggles and a tremendous team of young
actors who bring life to their characters in every scene. There is
hardly a moment of this movie that does not feature one of the
three main young characters: Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter),
Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) have
a commanding presence on-screen and really carry the movie.
