I have quite a few Jillian DVD's and this is now one of my favourites. I am in decent shape, i still have about 20 lbs to shed before i am at my all time weight goal. This DVD makes you SWEAT! If you are punching and kicking as hard as you can there is no way you wont sweat. Its an amazing work out for such a short amount of time. Its over literally before you know it. I actually prefer this to the 30 day shred as i was sweating and panting alot harder. I have been doing level one and even the warm up makes me pant a bit. I don't think this is suitable for those extremely out of weight, as the first move is speed jumping jacks, and you do suicides as well. All great moves, but difficult if you are overweight. The only annoying thing is the chick with the green top and long pony tail. She just bothers me. But i will be doing this for a blast of cardio through out the week.

I have of the Jillian Michaels workout DVDs, love the others but I am not really into this one. I am pretty out of shape but workout 1 did not made me sweat at all. Also, I find that it's much harder to get the form right, even though I have watched the kickbox tutorial and try to follow along as much as possible. What bugs me the most was that I was REALLY distracted by all those new faces in the video. I would prefer to only see 2 people working out behind Jillian than a whole group of them.

This workout is badass and a lot of fun! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to burn calories, and shed fat in addition to the resistence training they already do. But, if you're looking to buy one Jillian DVD that'll give you quick results, nothing beats "No More Trouble Zones." That video is the first Jillian Video anyone should buy. But this video, on the other hand, does give you the same aerobic quality of "Banish Fat Boost Metalism." If you do this video instead of run on the treadmill for the same amount of time you'll get the same results but faster. She does use weights, however, in two of her exercises, but really, the entire DVD's aerobic. The best part of the DVD is the tutorial. I didn't know how to kickbox before i bought this DVD, but i'm proud to say, i do now :) ! And the moves she uses are awesome self-defense moves too -- I actually feel like i could use some of them to protect myself if someone were dumb enough to accost me. PROS -In kickboxing tutorial the names of the kicks and punches are displayed along with Jillian's descriptions of their corresponding techniques - some of these moves are excellent self-defense moves. RE: you'll feel like you can kick ass! - you sweat a lot! - you don't need a mat, or any equipment except two 8lbs dumb bells - you won't get it the first time you watch the DVD cause it's fast-paced and challenging. -it's fast-paced - the music is better than her other DVDs - There's more models in the background which makes for a fun simulated group atmosphere...and they really get into it. CONS -in the tutorial they should keep the names of the moves up, for the entire duration of its explanation and demonstration -- that would make for better motor recall when you're doing the exercises later on (which she will not explain) -you need to wear trainers (not running shoes) indoors, cause some of the moves involve pivoting on your supporting leg/foot...and if you're not wearing the proper shoes, you could scuff up your floor if you're not careful. It is possible not to wear shoes though if you have very calloused feet however. -She NEVER says right or left which is frustrating. -you can't skip through the individual circuits or exercises with your remote. if you press the skip button, it'll bring you back to the main menu. - she never shows the moves from behind, like you'd otherwise see in a typical class of any kind. Generally, the teacher and the students all face the front of the class, (which tends to be a mirror) together...so while i like the instructor facing me in the videos, when shes showing the move for the first time, it would have been helpful to see the new sequences from behind -- like i'm standing behind her in class.
