Great for those not into traditional yoga

I have tried yoga and pilates before and i hated it. I didn't feel like i was getting anything done with the instructions i was given and my heart rate never increased. THIS i like. Its power yoga. You move within the poses to create an aerobic piece to the workout. I immediately felt the improvement in my upper body since i am incredibly weak in my arms. No i did not sweat buckets, but i am always struggling with workout 1 to improve my poses and movements. My muscles shake throughout this workout. Jillian gives the best motivational speeches too. "Get comfortable with being UNcomfortable" is my favourite. Its a great 30 minute workout to incorporate a couple times a week.

    Not Beneficial

I like that Jillian acknowledges this is a "hybrid" yoga and that it has her signature fitness style on it. I can appreciate trying something new as a way of getting the body to move in different ways. However, I found this workout ineffectual. Traditional yoga with a qualified instructor is a better option if you're interested in getting fit through yoga. A traditional yoga class will focus on body alignment, strength, and stamina. Jillian's traditional boot camp workouts are still the best and I think she should stick with that.

    Great Workout!

It's easy to follow the exercises through audio and visual, but the two levels with both beginners and advanced leaves much room for improvement. It's a killer workout that leaves a person feeling fantastic afterwards. I have done some of the exercises most of my life and I found it very challenging. I can only do the beginners of level one so I look forward to much growth in the future. Great strength training through body weight. I highly recommend this to anyone serious about long term body improvement.

    Great workout

Good clear instruction and again, Jillian is not annoying, even giving a 'we're almost done" speech right when you need it. It's a great workout, making me sweat and runs in a great amount of time (30 minutes). It would help if you have taken a yoga class previously. I do wish it had a slightly extended warmup and more relaxation at the end, but hey, it's yoga meltdown! I suggest watching it first, as the beginner modifying poses are not always shown or explained until near the middle/end of the pose. If you have back problems, this video should be approached with caution, as it has a lot of back extensions and the camel pose= backbend.

Jillian Michaels gives a great workout.......my yoga practice is good so I had no problem keeping up BUT if you are a beginner more instruction getting into posistion would be good to prevent injury. For example Camel pose - you should avoid twisting the spine as you reach back....this isn't stated in the video. Overall a nice quick workout that breaks a sweat!

This is a really good workout!! As a yoga teacher, myself, it is a clear, consise, sequence and I was definitely sweating by the end of the 30 minutes. Could use a bit more of a relaxation at the end, but overall, good workout.
