Loveless is a twelve-episode shounen-ai anime that involves drama, fantasy, and a bit of romance. The anime got into the story so fast without a lot of details, which left me wondering what kind of world the characters live in that fighters were necessary. The children have cat-like ears and a tail, and when they grow older, they ears and tail fall off. I am sure the manga was probably better, but the ending was great. I liked how all of the episode names had -less at the end: loveless, endless, etc.

Aoyagi Ritsuka is a twelve-year old boy that is left with his crazy mother when his brother, Seimei, dies. When Ritsuka starts attending a new school, he meets Agatsuma Soubi, who says that he knew Seimei.

Soubi and Seimei used to be a fighting pair, where Soubi was the fighter and Seimei was the sacrifice. When Seimei died, Soubi became Ritsuka's. When Ritsuka discovers that Seimei was killed by an organization called the Seven Moons, he decides to investigate his brother's death.
