This urban nightmare has justifiably become one of Martin Scorsese's most celebrated films. For psychotic, pistol-packing Vietnam vet Travis Bickle, New York City seems like a circle of hell. Driving his cab each night through Times Square, Bickle observes with fanatical loathing the sleazy lowlifes who comprise most of his fares. By day he haunts the porno theaters of 42nd Street, taking his cues from the violent vision of life portrayed in these movies. As Bickle's attempts to connect with the people around him -- the lovely blonde campaign worker he wants to date, a prepubescent prostitute he tries to save -- are thwarted, his pent-up rage grows, and this social outcast turns into a walking time-bomb.

When Martin Scorsese, one of the world's most skillful and respected directors, reunited with two-time Oscar-winner Robert De Niro in GoodFellas, the result was one of the most powerful films of the year. Based on the true-life best seller Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi and backed by a dynamic pop/rock oldies soundtrack, critics and filmgoers alike declared GoodFellas great. It was named 1990's best film by the New York, Los Angeles and National Society of Film Critics. And it earned six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Robert De Niro received wide recognition for his performance as veteran criminal Jimmy "The Gent" Conway. And as the volatile Tommy DeVito, Joe Pesci walked off with the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Academy Award nominee Lorraine Bracco, Ray Liotta and Paul Sorvino also turned in electrifying performance. You have to see it to believe it-then watch again. GoodFellas explores the criminal life like no other movie.

Martin Scorsese, one of America's greatest living filmmakers, returns to the world of mobsters, greed and excess, which he explored so brilliantly in his masterpiece "GoodFellas." Set in the 1970s, "Casino" is a companion piece to the earlier film. Reveling in the minute details of how Las Vegas casinos operate, it chronicles the rise and fall of a casino manager. Mob bosses in Kansas City send Ace Rothstein to Las Vegas to head-up the Tangiers. As the king of his domain, Ace efficiently runs the business and regularly sends lots of cold cash to his bosses. Helping Ace keep the casino's employees and customers honest is his best friend Nicky, a violent socio-path. Although Ace aims to run a relatively respectable casino, volatile Nicky wants to take over the entire gambling mecca. Then beautiful Ginger McKenna, a seasoned Vegas hustler, enters the picture, further complicating Ace and Nicky's friendship. She agrees to marry Ace even though she isn't in love with him and tells him as much. As drugs and alcohol become a bigger part of Ginger's life, Ace's possessiveness and jealously drive her into an affair with Nicky. Way in over their heads, all three are eventually brought down by their own greed and blind ambition.

Considered by many critics to be the best film of the 1980s, this gritty docudrama about hardheaded prizefighter Jake La Motta is so astonishingly real it seems like the champ's black-and-white home-movie reels have been spliced together. Robert De Niro’s Oscar-winning performance is intense and awe inspiring, and Martin Scorsese uses his regular bag of camera tricks to add to the proceedings. The film features a stellar supporting turn by Joe Pesci as La Motta’s brother, Joey.

Max makes good on his satanic threats to terrorize Sam, stalking the vulnerable family, poisoning their dog, brutally assaulting Sam's close friend, and sexually harassing Sam's daughter Danielle. To rid themselves of this raging force of retribution, Sam, Leigh and Danielle join forces against Max in a final struggle for their very existence.

Martin Scorsese once again explores his fascination with mob-related films with this masterpiece. Casino stars Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone in some of the best performances of their careers. The film details the rise and fall of organized crime in the city of Las Vegas, in all its terrifying ugliness. Meticulously rendered and impeccably precise, the film is a marvellous study of the criminal underworld. Epic and powerful, Casino is one of the best gangster flicks ever put to film, thanks to the vision of Scorsese.
