This is a movie, that confirms for me how much I love watching movies, and being engrossed and entertained for those 2 and so hours. Moneyball is a movie that has a subtle charm, that's makes you feel good, that thing that can make a bad day go away and just feel happy. Moneyball at its core is about two guys changing the way things happen, and over coming long odds to change generations of accepted thoughts. Brad Pitt stars as Billy Beane the General Manger of the Oakland Athletics. usually I say actors give powerhouse performances as a good thing. In this case, Brad Pitt does the opposite. He gives such a quiet performance, but it leaves the exact same impression as a loud performance. Pitt has the charm and charisma in this movie to carry the load, and when the odd serious scene comes up, he handles it with care. He carries this movie, and is the reason why it is so good. Jonah Hill stars as Brad Pitt's assistant G.M. He is not showy, and shows he can handle himself in a serious drama. To me, Phillip Seymour Hoffman gives a very under appreciated performance here. He is a very odd in role, and has limited screen-time, but he sets the character up with perfection. Director Bennett Miller does an awesome job making a movie that really is just boardroom talk into something inspiring and moving. Overall, just check this movie out if you ever feel down one day and want to be happy.
