This movie is not only for the followers of the sport (I don’t even follow it myself), and you don’t have to be a gear-head to respect the story that this driver has left behind. Senna is the story of a child who grew into a respectable man through his dedication to a dream. We see how a insignificant go-kart racer from brazil becomes a hero and a superstar worldwide. He battles the politics of racing throughout his legendary career, and is always motivated to push the limits of himself and of his car to be the fastest. His personality and character is accurately represented through actual historical archived footage. The footage is so seamlessly stitched together that it runs more like a fictional film than other drawn out documentaries. Senna depicts the life of a man that started with a boyhood dream. We observe how he begins his career as an adolescent with values, persistence, and goals, and then becomes a generous wise man that challenges the views of others around him by staying true to himself. I recommend this film to anyone who is touched by the inspirational lives of others. Ayrton is truly inspiring. He becomes a honorable man with the motivation and dedication to follow his passion for racing, and shows others that dreams aren’t always out of reach.
