    GREAT MOVIE

The Help depicts a time in American history where whites were superior and the blacks were inferior. Black maid was forced to cater to the, sometimes cruel, white family. It actually has a lot of good material in it. It's an interesting perspective on the civil rights movement of the 1960's and especially on race relations in the state of Mississippi. It revolves around the writing of a book by Skeeter (Emma Stone) an aspiring author largely raised by a black maid employed by her family. I give this film an 8 of 10; it was wonderfully insightful and touching.

    The Help

This movie really moved me and opened my eyes to the struggles people go through every day of their lives. The Help is an outstanding movie that makes you feel cheerful, sad, furious etc. in just one movie. It is taken place in the 60’s during the civil rights movement, where African-American maids were treated poorly with no respect whereas the white women were privileged with how easy their lives were. A young girl named Skeeter, played by Emma Stone, tries desperately to become a journalist then decides to write a book about all the nasty and horrible things that the African-American maids must go through on the job after seeing first-hand how poorly they are treated. She begins to learn more about them and starts to develop a relationship with the maids and gains the trust of Ailbieen, played by Viola Davis, in helping her write her book. The stories that unfold are remarkable to watch and I recommend anyone who hasn’t seen it to either rent or buy the movie and watch it!

It`s a wonderful and realistic movie. In the 60`s, at Jackson (Mississippi) where racial tensions simmer between African-American maids and their white employers at the dawn of the civil rights movement. Through harsh words and arrogant gestures by the privileged white women for their black maids, and this insult happened on the daily bases.
These days, we ignore what was happened before and stating "things were done differently in the past" because we don`t want to know or ashamed of the thru. But this happened and part of our history. This movie is educational and an eye opener for everyone.
