The Notebook

Starring: Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams
Director: Nick Cassavetes

Universal Home Video | January 23, 2007 | DVD

As teenagers, Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling) begin a whirlwind courtship that soon blossoms into tender intimacy. The young couple is quickly separated by Allie's upper-class parents who insist that Noah isn't right for her. Several years pass, and, when they meet again, their passion is rekindled, forcing Allie to choose between her soul mate and class order. This beautiful tale has a particularly special meaning to an older gentleman (James Garner) who regularly reads the timeless love story to his aging companion (Gena Rowlands).

    Great Love Story

Noah(Ryan Gosling) and Allie(Rachel McAdams) are two teenagers from different walks of life who come to together and fall in love. The story takes place in a southern state in the USA back in the earlier 1900's. Noah is a simple home grown boy who lives with his father and works hard at job in the trades industry in which he makes very little money in. He meets a beautiful young women named Allie who he thinks is out of her league, and she thinks this as well. He pursues Allie until she falls for him. Something happens to make Allie's parents leave the city and move off, leaving Noah behind and both of them heart broken. This compelling story has passion, love, true images of relationships, and it shows that no matter what walk of life you come from and who you are, any two people can fall in love and it can work. True love will always find you. This movie inspires us to truly look at who we have in our lives that are special and never take it for granted because the people who love us will go to the ends of the earth to be with us sometimes, and all we need is faith hope and love. This movie is truly amazing and one of my favourites. There are all sorts of elements such as sadness, love, humour, suspense and of course passion. What more could you want in a movie. I would recommend this movie to teenagers, adults, couples and to watch on a girls night in. It is a tear jerker, even for some men, but well worth the box of tissues you'll need for the movie! This movie is 2 thumbs up in my books
