The movie of "The Time Traveler's Wife" suffers from the usual
book-to-movie problem: it's a bit too short, lost a bit too much,
and ends slightly differently in a way that reduces the impact on
the viewer. It's not that it's a bad movie - I think, had I not
read the Audrey Niffinegger book first - I might have enjoyed it
quite a bit more.
Eric Bana, however, really didn't suit the part. He's a bit too
clean cut, a bit too cold and jerky in his interpretation of the
role, and it threw me off. Rachel McAdams, however, is a perfect
Claire, and the young role of Alba was also cast well.
All in all, this movie about a relationship is - in and of itself -
a good movie. It just fell short of delivering the emotional impact
the book had, and the choice of ending left me a little bit flat.
