    Dark, brooding and thought-provoking
    I love the Wallander series and Kenneth Branagh is absolutely perfect in the role of Kurt Wallander. These 3 films are excellent examples of the Swedish noir genre - such a wonderful sense of menace. Even when the plots are somewhat contrived (as in One Step Behind) the portrayal of Wallander's angst-ridden life and his tortured relationship with his adult daughter keeps one riveted to the screen. Highly recommended.
