Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have. My husband is a very picky eater who enjoys high fat, high calorie foods and complains when given something to eat that is low fat. However, every recipe I have made him out of this recipe book he has thoroughly enjoyed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Two Crazy Girls Janet and Greta have made a lot of old standby dishes sound so much more interesting and healthy. If the recipes are half as good as the ones in Looneyspoons I will be quite content. Even if you are not a foodie like me but like to know some food trivia and tips on eating healthier that doesn't sound like another lecture, try this one out. There are some real eye-openers in here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates for Crazy Dates! Many of the recipes I've tried from this book have become staple meals for our family, which includes two discerning tots. Some recipes turn out high-class fare that demands candlelight. The ingredients are accesible, while introducing new items that won't derail the grocery budget. Greta and Janet's helpful hints and fun facts make great reading material while stirring and slicing (though mind the fingers!). This is a well-rounded book that has much to offer for any appetite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as good as the first one This is the sequel to Looneyspoons, and it's just as good. The humour's still there too! The recipes are so yummy, the portions are generous... your family will never know they're eating low-fat healthy food!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't believe it's low fat I was at Zhers markets, in Waterloo, a few weeks ago, and the authors of this book were giving away Crazy Plates for free, when you bought a frozen entree. So I picked one up, although I'm not interested in low fat food. I've always found low fat food to be lacking in flavour, and I eat fairly low fat on my own. I decided to try five recipes this week, and everyone has been better than the next. I can't believe that this could possibly be low fat. I'm so impressed by this book, I've been recommending this book to all my friends, and plan on buying their previous cookbook LooneySpoons . I'm not using this book to lose weight at all, and I'm more interested making these recipes than the other fattening cookbooks offer. Cudos Ladies!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates Living on my own for the first time I find myself consulting this cook book before every meal and after every meal so that I can plan what I am going to have the next day! I look the book's layout: colour, text, cartoons - a very fun read even when you're not cooking. My only complaint: a lot of ingredients required but it's worth it considering how low fat and tasty the food is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates I love cooking especially when it's easy and low fat! This recipe book is full of easy to make recipes with ingrediants you can find in any grocery store. I have probably tried half the recipes in the book and all have been good or excellent. The portion sizes are extremely generous. Best of all the book is fun to read since it has low fat tips throughout! I can't wait for the next one by the authors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cooking for the inept...! As a university student with a crazy schedule... I have to say that this book is a breath of fresh air...I have very little experience in cooking and baking, and I found this book easy and fun to follow. The nutrition facts are what really drew me to this cookbook. The cheesy (but fun) puns will make you giggle. The choco-doodle-do brownies are amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TOO GOOD TO NOT BUY IT This cook book is Phenominal. I am on weight watchers and therefore I am always looking for low point recipes I can make. This book does not tell a lie. YOu feel like you are eating sinfully because the quantities of food are so huge you usually can not finish them. PLus the food is soo healthy yet scrumptious you hardly feel like you are on a health eating plan. I give a big thumbs up for this book and already I have lost 7 lbs just eating these recipes out of this book. Plus all the ingrediants are normal and can be bought at any grocery store. I promise you this book is the best and you will not regret buying it. In fact I have the entire WW group in my hometown hooked on it. SO happy eating to those who buy this book. :) Oh yah, those of you who are just lookin for a good recipe book. Buy this one. YOu will not regret trying these delicious and tasty meals. Tchau!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from To become a Classic Cookbook These two sisters, really know how to cook up recipes. This second edition is bound to become a bestseller and a classic cookbook at its best! I'm a book reviewer for Romance and Fiction Magazine, this is a first Rated: A+ non-ficiton book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates I found this book to be an excellent tool in maintaining my post pregnancy weight loss. There is an excellent variety of recipes which have 'normal' portion sizes, with common ingredients. My husband loves the meals I prepare and doesn't turn his nose up at me when I mention that it is low fat. The recipes are easy and fun to prepare and should be investigated by anyone who wants to stop yo yo dieting and strive for a healthier lifestyle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 Stars from The Incredible Shrinking Woman! I finally finished cooking my way through Looneyspoons, and now I'm making my way through Crazy Plates. I have already tried most of the soup recipes (I'm a bit of a soup fanatic, I must confess!) and can say without a doubt that these are the best-tasting low-fat soups I've ever made. I've lost 73 lbs. over the past year and I'm aiming to lose the remaining 28 lbs. during the year ahead. Crazy Plates and Looneyspoons are making it easy for me to stay on track--one of the reasons why I give them a major thumbs up in my own book The Incredible Shrinking Woman: The Girlfriend's Guide to Losing Weight. I hope the Podleski sisters don't plan to hang up their aprons any time soon. Their cookbooks are simply sensational.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it!!! I love this cook book. The recipes are great and I know I can always find the ingredients in my local grocery store. Great info and cartoons too!!! Even my husband loves the recipes. (He can't tell they're low fat!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates A must have for anyone interested in healthy, tasty food choices! I have a ton of cook books, and this is now my favorite. It is the best gift I've gotten in a long time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible recipes This cookbook has changed my life-- awesome. I use the recipes every night. My husband was diagnosed with high cholesterol, so I thought we had better change our eating habits. The recipes are easy and the ingredients are "down to earth" no fancy shampsy unknown/hard to find ingredients. For even more variety I just bought their first cookbook "looney spoons". I would recommend this to anyone. We have lost 8-10 lbs, just by cutting out fat...but still enjoy all the great food...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates I am not overly impressed with this book. I have seen the authors on t.v. several times, and decided to buy the book. Out of the 4 recipes I've made so far, one was far too sweet(Abracadaquiri Strawberry Pie), one wasn't all it was hyped up to be (the Chocolate Kahluha Cheesecake), the Peanut Butter, Oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies are good, but a little dry. The only thing that's been a big hit is the Bon Bon Jovi's. I find a lot of the recipes have 15 or more ingredients in them, and it's just too much work for me to do when I have arthritis. So far it's about 50/50 on the success rate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Cookbook You WILL Use! The recipes in this book are even better than the first one! Many of them use a lot of the same ingredients, and there is a definite Asian influence. Once you have say, hoisin sauce, you can make just about anything. The appetizers are to die for! We especially liked the Satayday Night Fever. This is one of those cookbooks you will actually use and enjoy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soooo much fun! The first book was great. The sequel even better! Once again, the Podleskis combine delicious low-fat recipes with their trademark humour. Also, I love the way they infuse some Asian ingredients into some of their dishes. In all, Crazy Plates is a really fun resource for an original and healthy approach to cooking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates I bought this book because I have heard so much about their first book 'Looneyspoons'. Well, I made their Copabanana Cake on the weekend, and everyone loved it. I have never made banana bread with sour cream before; It was so moist. I am going to buy their first book this weekend. I hope they bring out more cookbooks. Also, it was a hoot to read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates These two sisters did it again with another terrific and fun to read cookbook. Truly tasty and healthy recipes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SEQUEL BETTER!! Looneyspoons was great....Crazy Plates is greater!! This from a bachelor that doesn't list "cooking" among his talents! The recipes are easy to follow, they taste as though they aren't good for you (which of course they ARE), and everyone leaves the table very satisfied. The overall look of the book is more pleasing to the eye than Looneyspoons was, without compromising the quality of content. It's tough to find faults with this recipe book.....so I won't!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates I love the girls' Looney Spoon Cook Book. I even purchased one for my mother. Now I'm going to order their new book Crazy Plates. Their first book was just excellent and I use it almost everyday. I'm sure that I will be using their new book just as much. Fantastic Books.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Plates I am about to try the first of many recipes in this book. Layout is excellent, cartoons are great, puns are sooooo bad (but fun), and the recipes look wonderful! Good read, good food, good fun.

Recipe

The Thigh Who Loved Me Recipe As sisters and double-agents, we risked life and limb to uncover the secret formula for zesty, gooey, barbequed chicken thighs. You can deliver the goods to your dinner table knowing they’re sure to please a crowd. Psst! They make great leftovers, too. 3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 12 pieces) 3/4 cup ketchup 1/2 cup salsa 1/4 cup honey 1 tbsp Dijon mustard 1 tsp chili powder 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1 tbsp cornstarch Trim off any visible fat from chicken. Arrange thighs in a single layer in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Set aside. In a medium bowl, wisk together ketchup, salsa, honey, Dijon mustard, chili powder, and cumin until well blended. Pour sauce over chicken. Turn pieces to coat both sides with sauce. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 45 minutes. When chicken is done, arrange thighs on a serving platter and keep warm. Pour sauce into a small saucepan, skimming off as much fat as possible. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water until smooth. Add to sauce. Bring to a boil, and cook until sauce thickens, stirring constantly. Pour extra sauce over chicken or serve it on the side as a dipping sauce. Makes 4-6 servings. Hint: If you prefer, chicken breasts or drumsticks can be used in place of thighs. If using chicken breasts, bake them for 30 minutes, not 45.
