It is actually a book lsited in all homeschool resource catalogues for grades 7-9 not ages 7-9 . There is also a study guide avaliable . We made a timeline along with the book

About the Author

JANET LUNN is the author of more than fifteen books for young readers including The Root Cellar and Shadow in Hawthorn, Charlotte and Laura Second. She has been the recipient of the Governor General''s award for children''s literature, CLA Book of the Year for Children, and the Canada Council Award for Children''s Literature. The Story of Canada won her the Mr. Christie Book Award and the Toronto Branch IODE Award. She currently lives in Ottawa. CHRISTOPHER MOORE is the author of numerous history books for adults and young readers including 1867: How the Fathers Made a Deal, McCarthy Tetrault: Building Canada''s Premier Law Firm, and Louisbourg Portraits. He is winner of the Governor General''s Award for Non-Fiction and co-author of The Illustrated History of Canada. Christopher lives in Toronto with his wife and their two daughters. Alan Daniel is a painter and illustrator whose work is characterized by its energy and fine draftsmanship. His skills were honed in the studio of J. Merle Smith who, along with master watercolorist Kalman Banitz, provided a rigorous art education. A Kitchener resident for many years, Alan draws inspiration from the city, from the colours and contours of the landscape surrounding it and from rocky Muskoka where he summers.
