Bared To You is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
From #1" New York Times "bestselling author Sylvia Day comes the provocative masterstroke of abandon and obsession that redefined the meaning of desire, and became a global phenomenon...
Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness...
He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...
Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds...and desires.
The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...

Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good I'm hovering between a 3 and a 4 out of 5. This has similar scenes to the book "that-shall-not-be-named" but the writing is so much better. There's also a bit more depth to it. What annoyed me the most was the emotional angst and the back and forth, on and off again relationship Eva and Gideon shared. They're both traumatized by theirs pasts and we do find out the past of one, but not the other and that bothered me. I found their fights to be so over the top and downright ridiculous. Many times I felt that Eva was making something into nothing, while Gideon had no barriers for privacy whatsoever. I would be beyond pissed if he pulled stuff like that on me. I also couldn't fathom why Eva had to explain how beautiful every character she knows. We get it, everyone is a Barbie and Ken doll in your fictional world.. It doesn't have to be repeated. I found Gideon to be positively overbearing, controlling and super possessive. He had his sweet moments though. His physical description made me imagine Henry Cavill the entire time,so that was fun. As for Eva, I had no idea why she felt like she wasn't worthy of Gideon. She would dismiss her worth all the time and it bothered me so much. I liked Cary in the beginning but after what he did to his love, I started to detest him. And what's up with his "baby girl" nickname? It's just as annoying as "Inner Goddess." Overall, I say pick it up for the steamy sexy scenes, but lack of character development and a page turning story eventually made me feel like it wasn't finished. Hopefully these are fixed in the sequel.

Cary Taylor found excuses to celebrate, no matter how small and inconsequential. I’d always considered it part of his charm. “I’m sure drinking the night before starting a new job is a bad idea.” “Come on, Eva.” Cary sat on our new living room floor amid half a dozen moving boxes and flashed his winning smile. We’d been unpacking for days, yet he still looked amazing. Leanly built, dark-haired, and green-eyed, Cary was a man who rarely looked anything less than absolutely gorgeous on any day of his life. I might have resented that if he hadn’t been the dearest person on earth to me. “I’m not talking about a bender,” he insisted. “Just a glass of wine or two. We can hit a happy hour and be in by eight.” “I don’t know if I’ll make it back in time.” I gestured at my yoga pants and fitted workout tank. “After I time the walk to work, I’m going to hit the gym.R

Editorial Reviews

“When it comes to brewing up scorchingly hot sexual chemistry, Day has few literary rivals.”—Booklist

Praise for Sylvia Day’s Bared to You

“The rush of erotic fiction into the hands of mainstream readers invites consideration of whether 21st-century society is flirting with a new normative sexual epoch. Day’s novel explores this issue unflinchingly and compellingly by pairing her narrative of sexual temptation and emotional risk with character studies that mirror divisive social and cultural issues of identity, trauma, repression and liberation.”—New York Times bestselling author Andrea Cremer
