Book Review: I have always loved Debbie Macomber’s books and therefore I am prejudice in my thoughts on her books. I loved the Lydia, Lauren and Bethanne. They were great and very likable characters. Brad, Max and Rooster were great guys. I was less bowled over by Rooster - not a fan of the name. He did grow on me as a character. It is this particular reason that Debbie Macomber is a good author. Rooster was a risky character. I personally am not into men with long hair, biker guys and the like. Yet there was more to Rooster than just those things. The quick meeting and the quick build in the relationship was like my relationship to my husband made it even more fun. Rooster had an old fashion side to him that was sweet and lovable. While not suspenseful in romance it was a wonderful book. Bethanne and Max had their problems, but they were a solid couple. This is a welcome theme in a world with so many failed relationships. Lydia and Brad were the rock solid family a sweet addition to the overall book. I am very glad I got to read this story. I would like to thank Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Welcome back! It was wonderful to be back on Blossom Street!!! All the characters are so real and it is wonderful to learn more about characters from before and get to know new or slightly mentioned characters. The conflict in the book is real and the characters grow, even some of the "bad" ones. It's wonderful to read about such disparate characters who are all part of a community of their own making. It is wonderful and hope full to read this book and realize that people can change for the better and appreciate the people around them even more. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series!

Read from the Book

Chapter One Lauren Elliott had received the most depressing news of her life. Her sister was pregnant. Her younger sister. Oh, she was happy and excited for Carol, but mingled in with the joy was an undeniable sense of envy. The fact that Carol was about to become a mother shouldn’t have come as a shock—her sister and Jason had been married for two years, after all. Lauren loved her sister, and Jason would make a wonderful father. What bothered her was the fact that at age thirty-four, Lauren was still unmarried. Single. Oh, how she’d come to hate that word. Walking down Blossom Street, Lauren buried her hands deep into the pockets of her fawn-colored rain jacket. Tulips and crocuses bloomed in the flowerpots that hung from the streetlights, and the scent of roses, lilacs, and camellias followed her as she walked past Susannah’s Garden, the flower shop. Lauren kept her head down as she mulled over this latest development. This was it. The end of her rope. The line in the sand. She was finished waiting for Todd to give her an engagement ring. A year earlier she’d had the DTR—Defining the Relationship—talk with Todd and he’d assured her that marriage was definitely part of their future. Only he wasn’t in a financial position to make the leap just yet. He’d suggested they give it time, and she’d reluctantly agreed. That was twelve months ago, and frankly her patience was shot. She’d dated the popular local t
