Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insightful I found this less like a go to encyclopedia but more of a display piece. Every page was just so beautiful that I couldn't stifle my fangirling squeals. It's nice to discover new characters and relive your favourite heroes and villains' moments. I did find that some information were lacking but I just can't give this less than 5 stars because of its beauty and the aura it gives off. With the Internet being a faster and more updated sorce of knowledge, this will soon become obsolete, but I don't care. I'll just lay this out oh my coffee table and gaze at it everyday.

Includes information about when the character first appeared, their attributes, powers, enemies, etc. Perfect for hardcore fans and for those of us who dabble every now and then.

My son has been after me for awhile to purchase this book for him....I did not see the big deal at first, but know seeing him reference it continually and quote specific facts about the superheros, I am really glad I gave in and purchaced this book. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent fun ! For any die-hard comic book geeks ( young and not-so-young ), this compendium of DC comics characters, events, and history is a must have ! It is quite thorough with over 1,000 entires. Some lesser characters I noticed were omitted, but I guess that is why publishers release future editions. The lay out is clean and easy to access and the art work is amazing. It's alot of fun to kick back and just casually thumb through the book and cross reference the DC Universe. The book itself is large, and well made with glossy beautiful pages. Highly recommended for any comic book lover.
