Rated 1 out of 5 by from Some times size does matter If you've never heard of golf and want something you can read in 10 minutes or are looking for a funny stocking stuffer....this is your book. Otherwise, steer clear. There is little or no detail on some areas and they gloss over most of the etiquette elements. This was my first and last miniature series purchase.

About the Author

Gary McCord, Gary McCord was born in San Gabriel, California and is a professional golfer turned golf commentator. Over his twenty-three year career, he never won a title but finished second in the 1977 Greater Milwaukee Open. After competing in the 1986 Colonial Invitational, he approached a CBS producer on the airplane and offered to look at their approach to its golf coverage in exchange for a week's room and board. They took him up on his offer and a week later, he was handed a headset at the 16th hole tower and was told he was a color commentator. He was then teamed with Jim Nance and shared duties with Ken Venturi, Peter Kostis and others. McCord brought some humor into the serious world of professional golf and is now one of televisions most popular commentators. McCord wrote, with John Huggan, "Golf for Dummies" (1996) and appeared as himself in the golf movie "Tin Cup" that starred Kevin Costner and Don Johnson. He has also written several instructional articles in national golf magazines and writes a weekly America Online article for iGolf. "Just a Range Ball in a Box of Titleists R" (1997) is an entertaining and heartfelt take on the world of professional golf. He is also a teacher with nearly 20 current PGA Tour players and runs a golf school in Scottsdale, Arizona with Peter Kostis that is called the Kostis/McCord Learning Center.
