Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting Read I read the novel Mad Love by Suzanne Selfors a while back but still remember it as if it was yesterday. This is because this novel had a very interesting storyline that is unlike anything I have read in the past. This novel is about a young girl, Alice, who’s mother is a famous author. Her mom gets diagnosed with a mental illness and is sent away. Alice is too embarrassed to tell any of her mom’s fans so she tells everyone that “The Queen of Romance” is off on a vacation half way around the world and that she has no idea when she will be returning. Then Cupid comes in and forces Alice to write love stories for her mother and gives her some inspiration. The end was my favourite part of the novel. No, it wasn’t because it was where the novel came to an end. It was because of what happens. The ending is somewhat as you would anticipate from the events in the book but has a bit of a twist to it. This twist is exactly why I liked the ending. It gave the novel a good, tasteful closure and satisfied the reader. I enjoyed this novel. However, I found that a few passages were difficult to get into because of how they were written and found it had a slow start. Once you get into the novel, you will find that it is an enjoyable read with a storyline like no other. All in all, I would recommend this novel to someone who loves reading love stories and who is in need of a happy story with a great ending.
