Journey back to 1976 and meet Michael, who wants to be just like his hero Darryl Sittler, captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs. From his living room perch in front of the television, Michael watches Hockey Night in Canada and dreams of playing for the Leafs.

He sets out with his father on a search for a sweater that he can proudly wear on the ice while playing with his friends. He tries every store only to find out they are sold out. He tries one more, at Maple Leaf Gardens, and although they, too, have sold out of the Sittler sweater, Michael''s father is able to get tickets to what will be an historic game for the Leafs'' captain! As Michael roots Sittler on, he learns that there is much more to the love of hockey than just having the sweater of your favourite player.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great update of the classic Sweater #9, A classic theme - hockey through the eyes of a child. This time, though, too young to remember The Rocket - it's #27 Sittler and his amazing feat one night against the Bruins. Great story for both fans of the game and kids just starting to appreciate its wonders. And it's a history lesson in disguise: "Daddy, who where the Atlanta Flames?" Fantastic artwork by Sean Thompson - worthy of framing and hanging above your TV during "Hockey Night in Canada".

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bah! This book is nothing more than a shameless ripoff of the greatest Canadian kids' book, The Hockey Sweater by Roch Carrier. Just as young Roch rejects his Leafs sweater, this is a poor substitute for the original.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Leafs Sweater You'll shoot, you'll score with this one. An excellent story, for kids and grown-ups alike. For the serious Leafs fan, it's an awesome trip down memory lane. If you've ever been to Maple Leaf Gardens, you know what I mean. It's larger than life. This is not just for hockey fans, but for anyone with solid Canadian values. O Canada, and definitely GO LEAFS GO ! Don't miss this one.
