Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Irresistible Read Night Magic is a Romantic suspense novel that kept me on edge from beginning to end. Clara Winston is a funny heroine with Southern belle Charm that went out the window when she met CIA agent Jack McClain. Karen portrays her characters amazingly in this book and creates an amazing world where you can get lost in the suspense and intrigue as well as the romantic chemistry between the characters. As far as Romantic Suspense this one is at the top of my list with Iris Johansen’s novels. Romantic writer Clara Winston was living a quite life in her Virginia two story family former carriage house, now converted into her personal residence in order to get away from her mother and gain some privacy. She had just finished her latest book A Summer Kiss when vicious criminals broke into her house demanding that she tells them the whereabouts of the Dragon, who inspired her novel about a spy. Frightened and hurt she gives in and provides them with the Dragon, her cat Puff the magic Dragon. Not believing her the criminals threaten to kill her if she does provide the whereabouts of the real Dragon. With the help of Puff she manages to escape only to be thrown into the arms of CIA agent Jack McClain. Now they are both running from a deadly enemy in order to uncover the truth behind an international conspiracy. With helicopters chasing them, dogs hunting them, a KGB mercenary that wants them dead, and a CIA agent that she keeps Kissing, how can a Southern Bell ever survive?... Could the foul mouthed, bad tempered, broad-jawed, crooked nosed, cat hating spy with the most mesmerising emerald eyes be the real man who Clara has been waiting for all her life? Could Jack really be her Mr. Irresistible…?

Editorial Reviews

"Draw a line between two extremely popular genres, mysteries and romance novels, and in the middle you will find the bestselling Robards. She merges the two worlds like no one else, deftly interlacing plot and passion."-Albany Times Union
