Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth a read Due to the fact that I really loved The Heir, book one in this series, I decided to head straight into book two, The Soldier. Devlin and Emmie did not capture me the way Gayle and Anna did. I guess I went in hoping that I would love it as much as The Heir and while it had all the right ingredients it just didn't live up to my expectations. I missed the extra family involvement that was in The Heir. The only previous character we spend time with was Valentine, his youngest brother. I loved Winnie and her antics, which added levity to the story, and there were a few moments that pulled at my heartstrings. Not as strong as The Heir but still an enjoyable read.
