A remote military research station broadcasts a frantic distress call that ends with a chilling message: Kill us all. The land is completely sterile-and the blight is spreading.

To prevent the inevitable, Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma must decipher a threat that rises out of the distant past, a time when Antarctica was green and Earth''s life balanced on a knife edge. Following clues from an ancient map rescued from the lost Library of Alexandria, Sigma will make a shocking discovery involving a prehistoric continent, and a new form of death buried under miles of ice.

Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's Alright The 6th Extinction/James Rollins>3*It’s Alright Have been a fan of James Rollins since reading one of his first books Map of Bones. In The 6th Extinction, once again, there is only a matter of hours to save the world. The book jumps around quite a bit and near the end I started skimming and even skipping. Eventually got tired reading about all the killer monsters, what they looked like, what they did, etc. etc. However, for a first time reader of this author it should prove to be an entertaining read. But after reading many of his other similar books think I need to give him a pass for awhile.
