Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great soup recipes and a great cause to support I bought this book while participating in one of their local soup cooking nights where a bunch of people come together in a professional kitchen and cook up some of the recipes and then package it all up for delivery to a women's shelter. The book itself is well written with easy to follow instructions and handy tips. I have some new favourite soup recipes from it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Doable! I am pleased with this cook book. Very informative - especially for people that haven't been cooking long. The recipes look very doable although there are a few ingredients that may be tricky to find in small town ontario. This book also has a nice back-story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous design and it goes to a great cause Soup Sisters is an amazing Canadian grassroots social enterprise that combines good food, good culinary education, and good friends to provide literally hundreds of gallons of soup for transition and halfway houses. The Soup Sisters Cookbook was designed as a fundraising vehicle for Soup Sisters, which runs on a very lean budget., However, what resulted is far better than your average fundraiser cookbook. It is professionally written, with great photos and diagrams. Like the Soup Sisters events, the cookbook also gives advice on methods to turn out your best product. I especially love the mix of recipes from professional chefs and less famous people who have contributed their favourites and the little anecdotes in the sidebar. I bought 5 copies of Soup Sisters for gifts this Christmas and kept a copy for me. There are 100 recipes in the book. My project for 2013 is to cook a different new soup each week.
