Rated 4 out of 5 by from Defeat is always momentary! When you think of King Kong, an ape going around terrorizing everyone often comes to mind. This movie reaches new heights as it shows Kong as having human-like traits with his adoration for Ann and the struggle to keep her safe. Great action scenes especially as Adrien Brody is driving recklessly throughout NY to find Ann. Jack Black had a more serious role that worked for him, but still kept his odd-ball humour in check to lighten the mood. Quite a sad story but definitely one of the best and worth sitting through the 3 hours!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from King Long, King Yawn...zzzzzzz Peter Jackson decided to make an action-packed romp filled with dinosaurs, giant bugs, crazed natives and a mega ape. He also decided to make a serious drama filled with in-depth character explorations and romance. Unfortunately he tried try to cram both concepts into one film and it wasn't a good idea. Much of the movie was actually spent on a boat delving into the back stories of superfluous third-party characters that all die any way. Peter Jackson didn't need half the movie for that, he should have just put them in red shirts & called them "Ensign". See Jack Black parody himself impersonating Orson Welles! See close up shots of Naomi Watt's eyeballs repeatedly! See happy Kong playing in the snow and sad Kong admiring the sunrise. A lot of people claim this movie is great, just because the effects are good, just like a lot of people claim that tofu tastes exactly like beef just because it is available in a 'crumble' texture. King Kong 2005 is all form and no content. Save hours of your life and rent the original. It's a little dated, but it tells the same store in a lot less time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing this movie was so good. The special affects were out of this world an oscar winner for sure. Peter Jackson out did himself this time but we all knew it would be good after the successful Lord Of The Rings the trilogy a definate must see adventure and if you havent seen Lord Of The Rings I suggest that too.
