Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Worst Bourne Yet The Bourne franchise is a movie that I am particularly close with. I came into liking movies with the original trilogy and Matt Damon is still one of my favourite actors. I will watch anything with the Bourne name attached to it, and that includes this movie. The Bourne Legacy does some really neat things that build off the originals, but it also does some weird things that make it a lesser product. One good thing is the new main character, Aaron Cross. Jason Bourne was a dark character who had very little personality, he was ruthless and depressing. That is not a bad thing, it worked perfectly, but Aaron Cross is not that. Cross is okay with everything that has happened with him, and has charisma that Bourne did not. I love the original character of Jason Bourne, but Aaron Cross was a good way to take the franchise. Also I am a fan of Jeremy Renner. He was a great choice to take the mantel from Matt Damon, To stay along with characters Edward Norton was great. He was made for this role, I just hope it propels him into bigger roles in the future. To transition now from the good differences, there are defintly more reasons why The Bourne Legacy is the worst Bourne yet. Jason Bourne was a trained assassin, an extremely good one but all natural. Aaron Cross needs medicine and science fiction to be as good as Jason Bourne. There was no need to introduce a science fiction element to the movies. It really made me mad as the other movies had an air of reality to them, where this movie does not. Also this movie has one big action sequence and that's it, the other Bournes always seemed to have action scene after action scene. Overall all though there are some interesting takes of the Bourne franchise, this is the worst one yet.
