Coming of Age Adventure based on Ann Brashares' best-selling novel about a special 16th summer in the lives of four lifelong friends who are separated for the first time. On a shopping trip, the girls find a pair of thrift-shop jeans that fits each of them perfectly and they decide to use these "magic" pants as a way of keeping in touch over the months ahead, each girl wearing the jeans for a week to see what luck they bring her before sending them on to the next. Though miles apart, the four friends still experience life, love and loss together in a summer they'll never forget.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a common bond Cute and heartwarming and bittersweet as well. It covered each and every situation that can and will happen in one's life. It's amazing how one thing enabled these four friends to experience, share and resolve their own problems and end up still happy and together.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Based on the novel by Anne Brashares, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is an enjoyable movie to watch, which girls would especially enjoy. It is about four friends that have been together since they were babies, and their first summer apart when they are seventeen years old. Lena (Alexis Bledel) is shy and goes to visit her grandparents in Greece. Bridget (Blake Lively) is athletic and goes to sports camp that is in Mexico. Tibby (Amber Tamblyn) is sour-tempered and decides to work during the summer and make a "suckumentary." Carmen (America Ferrera) is a Porto Rican girl that has low self-esteem, and decides to visit her father. The pants travel between the four girls, keeping them connected in some way. The four girls learn and experience love and loss, so it is interesting to see how much one summer changes a person when they are far apart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A rare case where I liked the movie better Don't get me wrong - I really did like the book, it's just that the movie had much more of a punch to it than the book. I think it really just spells good things about the actresses - most notably the girls who played Carmen and Tibby, who really were a joy to watch on screen - but whose tales in the book just seemed weaker somehow. Mayhap it's just that I knew what was coming, but the Bailey sub-plot doesn't have anywhere near the emotional fallout effect in the book that she has here in the movie, which again I think is a sign of that young actress really playing her role well. Even Carmen's anger and frustration was just so much better played by the actress pointing out that, as a Peurto Rican, she did, indeed, have an ass. I really think the first book was great for the young girl readers out there - and I must say that in the book version, I had an easier time getting into Bee's head than in the movie (where she came across a bit trampy, as well as emotionally damaged, instead of just emotionally damaged, like in the book). The fallout of her actions is a bit stronger in the book, as well. But since that makes one girl out of four stronger in the book... well, I already said it - the movie hit me stronger, and I preferred it to the book, which is a rare feeling for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really LIked It!! I thought that the movie was good but not as good as the book but because i am a visual person i liked seeing what the author thought that the people should look like. I own the movie and have watched it several times and have enjoyed it everytime and would watch it again!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE this movie! This is like one of my all time favourite movies... and same goes for the book. It is about 4 friends, Lena, Carmen, Tibby, and Bridget, who are seperated for the first time ever over the summer. Yet in order to keep together they sent around a pair of jeans that magically fits them all perfectly. A story about friendship and finding who you really are I found that I could relate to some situations and learnt from others. It is AMAZING!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whoa!!! This is the best movie in the world. Although i think that you should read the books first because the movie is a bot different. This is a story about 3 best friends Lena the beaty, Bridget (Bee) the athlete, Tibby the movie maker and Carmen the portorican girl with a big heart (and butt) Over it ROX!!!! Frendz4LYFE
