Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hop on Pop A collection of ambitious short stories dealing with loss and redemption. The title story explores the inevitable loss of innocence that is part of growing up. Told through the eyes of two children who spend their days in a carefree paradise of walking and talking, the narrative takes us on a journey of abrupt change and sudden truths. When told by their father that they must no longer hop on him (executed with a jarring break in meter), the children open their eyes for the first time, literally as well as spiritually. They become adults and fade from the story never to appear again.
