Rated 5 out of 5 by from Childhood Favourite I read this book while I was in elementary school. I remember loving that book so much I didn't want it to end! I think I'm going to pick it up again and reread. I loved how he fiured out ways to survive and that he lived in a tree trunk. I will never forget this book! All kids should read it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My personal review! Jason, Jason, Jason wha were you thinking? What would a 14 year old boy want to run away on his own to the castkill mountains for? Is Jason nuts, stupid, sad or just plain ordinary? The answer is he's actually quite smart but does'nt use his brain all the time. See, the think is that Jason is tired of living a boring and crowded life in New York City so he runs off into the mountains with only $40.00, string, scissors, napsack, and lots of adventure. When you think about reading this book remember there are no wizards or magic it's just a nice relaxing 5* book that won't get you lost with to many characters. Remember the question, Jason, Jason, Jason what were you thinking?
