Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Polar Express This is by far my favourite Christmas book to read to my class and now to my grandchildren. It is the story of a little boy and his excitement over Christmas and the wonders that it presents. His train ride and visit with Santa is truly magical and something that all children do dream about. The fact that only children hear the bell brings such magic to this time of year and makes adults remember the magic of Christmas. It is the little things that count, as children often remind us about.William Hurt reads it extremely well. It is a cherished story in our home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my all-time favorites This book was read to me when I was in the first grade. I am now 21, and still feel that this is one of my favorite stories. My boyfriend bought the hardcover version of this book for me last Christmas, and I know it is a book that I will read to my children one day. Even after all this time, I remember this story very clearly, and everyone I know who has read it has come away with a really warm feeling inside. I definitely recommend this story to those who are a "kid at heart", and love Christmas not for it's material present-giving components, but for what Christmas is supposed to be about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of Those Magic Books This book is one of those magic books that make up a special tradition in our family Christmas. Every year, as we open up the box of Christmas decorations, our Polar Express is waiting to be read by light of the newly decorated tree. Reading this book with the smell of fresh cut pine, and thoughts of sleigh bells makes us all believe once again in a childhood dream come true.
