Journeys to the end of the world, fantastic creatures, and epic battles between good and evil -- what more could any reader ask for in one book? The book that has it all is the lion, the witch and the wardrobe, written in 1949 by C. S. Lewis. But Lewis did not stop there. Six more books followed, and together they became known as The Chronicles of Narnia.

For the past fifty years, The Chronicles of Narnia have transcended the fantasy genre to become part of the canon of classic literature. Each of the seven books is a masterpiece, drawing the reader into a world where magic meets reality, and the result is a fictional world whose scope has fascinated generations.

This edition presents all seven books -- unabridged -- in one impressive volume. The books are presented here according to Lewis's preferred order, each chapter graced with an illustration by the original artist, Pauline Baynes. This edition also contains C. S. Lewis's essay "On Three Ways of Writing for Children," in which he explains precisely how the magic of Narnia and the realm of fantasy appeal not only to children but to discerning readers of all ages. Deceptively simple and direct, The Chronicles of Narnia continue to captivate fans with adventures, characters, and truths that speak to all readers, even fifty years after the books were first published.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seven great books. I liked this book because there was a great transition between the books and because C. S. Lewis really managed to connect with the readers. The author put what people think (but never say our load) onto paper. It's kind of a review after a long day when you escape to the world of Narnia. Hey, it got me through my exams:-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Captivating This series was very interesting to read. If you are considering it, I would advise to rent the first ( The Magicians Nephew ) from the library before hand. Only because I have a feeling that you need to be really into this kind of thing before you decide to commit to it. Even I was sometimes bored at parts in the stories, but there is always an exciting event to bounce your imagination back into the story. When you do decide to read it, don't ever give up on it, bacause it takes patience in any new book! Enjoy! I did, so I'm sure you will.

This adventure sets them into the land of Narnia. The second book in the series is: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The third book is: The Horse and His Boy. This book is about the "golden age" of Narnia. Peter is High King. The fourth book is the Prince Caspian. This book takes the young four towards aslan's country at the end of Narnia. The Silver Chair is the sixth book and is about a mystical quest. Two people escape bullies at school through a door. As soon as they enter Narnia, Aslan gives them a quest. They are put in danger, but they must pursue the quest if the Prince is to be saved. The last book, is called the last battle. Everything is turned upside down, and someone/something is impersonating Aslan. Once Eustace and Jill find the real Aslan, peace will once again be restored to Narnia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Narnia( the land of imagination) I think that the The Complete Chronicals of Narnia is a compeling story which every kid should have a copy of. It exercices your imagination even though it has pictures they don't give away the setting or the appearence of the characters. This is a book which young and old should read. It is truly a magnificent story full of little surprises.
