Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful book! As a homeschooling mom, i'm constantly on the lookout for living books - books that will spark my child's interest in the world around them and more specifically :) in the things i want to teach them right now... We have been studying history chronologically and just added a first grader to the mix, and this book was devoured in one day - part of it in the morning and the last part snuggled on the couch well past bedtime. The story is an imaginative account of the legend surrounding Attila the Hun, the illustrations are beautiful black and white pictures that meld so harmoniously with the narrative. My littles are 8 (almost 9!) and 6 - and even our 4 year old listened to most of the story. But it's not just a child's story - i found it enthralling as well! I borrowed this from the library, but i have to buy my own copy now.
