Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Set I was in the mood for a quick-build Technic set with the intention of giving to my young sons to play with after... and luckily I picked the perfect set. It was a relatively quick build (for a Technic set - approx. 1.5 hours) with lots of detail and very sturdy construction. The playability factor is higher than I expected. You could purchase almost any pre-assembled metal or plastic Backhoe Loader and it wouldn't be this good. They have been playing with it for several days and I haven't had to re-assemble any parts (thankfully they aren't overly abusive with their toys). I highly recommend this set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good set, but not as easy to build as I thought I've been a fan of Lego City! It thought I'd try this set for Christmas to try and take the challenge of a Technic set. It drives great, and turns and even has a moving front loader and rear loader. Building it was hard in a few places. It was still fun to build just wasn't super easy as I thought because usually, it's easy to put legos together. I still recommend, just read the directions carefully. Another reason it was hard to build were that my thumbs were starting to hurt after putting and mashing pieces together in previous sets this week, especially the poky ones like gears, but still to build with legos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Backhoe! Let’s start off with the awesome value for money in this Technic Set! It's an awesome machine, and looks so real life. Just a shame it's my little sisters, not mine!! Awesome set though, gets the thumbs up from me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Cool Mini Backhoe To start with, I am very happy with this set and I was pleasantly surprised at its' size to functions ratio. A couple of years ago when the smallish front loader Technic came out I missed it and when I saw this I decided to get it and I'm VERY glad I did. I only got it yesterday and my two younger brothers are tired of me saying "I love this set!". This is my 13th LEGO Technic set and I must say unlike most of the other LEGO types Technic is only getting better. This is an interesting twist of a Backhoe too, it is a bit of a Front Loader and Backhoe and a few other things. It is like a backhoe in that it has all four wheels the same size and a one piece front bucket (backhoe front buckets can generally open up). The rear bucket mechanism is clever, a sort of reverse parallel joint which works nice and smoothly, and also has great reach and flexibility. The articulated steering is different but looks/works very good and I quite like it compared to the normal rack and pinion that Technic usually use. I have added a little orange light onto the top of the cab and two pinion/spur gears on the side of the bucket to add friction so the bucket can be posed at any angle not just in the lock or rest position. Cons: Nothing that I can think of! :) Pros: Just about everything I can think of! :) Thanks for reading and I hope this helps! :) Ultrasonic13

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value and fun For $30 you can't go wrong with this well designed little back-hoe. The simple functions work very well, it looks good for its small size, easy yet interesting to build. This is a great model for young builders and anyone who is a lego fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice addition to the construction vehicle lineup Wow, impressive model. The new mini Backhoe/Loader is quite impressive for its compact size. It is part of the new end of 2012 Technic lineup. It compares to its big brother, the 8069 Backhoe/Loader, except its smaller and while it has nearly all the functions as the 8069, for the price it is well worth it. All functions are there, all controlled by gear knobs for raising and tilting the front shovel, and raising/lowering and turning the angle of the rear backhoe shovel, including the steering which is controlled from the top of the cab. I immediately purchased it once it became available and I'll say it is worth it. Only thing that could have made it better is a set of stabilizer feet on the rear when using the back shovel and a set of slightly larger tires/rims on the rear of the vehicle, but for the price point these things can be overlooked. Definitely a must have for Technic fans and younger children and teens.
