Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome dragon! I'm an old-school LEGO fan who's just discovering the current collections now that my kid is of age... The models have improved a thousandfold in the last 30 years! :D This set offers a beautifully detailed robotic dragon, complete with swinging tail, spinning sawblades, and posable forearms, head and jaw. I'm very conscious of the price of the models, and I can't really recommend it at full price. But now that it's available on sale, it's a great deal! Have fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate Ninja Tracker I'd like to start off by saying that I'm reviewing this a little late; I got this set for Christmas a year ago, and didn't get around to reviewing it until now. Oh well. This is a pretty nice set. A pretty wide variety of minifigures; Nya's car is simple but also very cool, and the Mech Dragon has some awesome features. Minifigures: This set has some great Minifigures. We get to see Sensei Garmadon for the first time. I like that he has the grey version of Lloyds's/Anakin's hair; it looks pretty nice. Lloyd is good too, but I wish that he had his armor like he does in the Overborg Attack. But, he's good anyway. General Cryptor has a different face than the rest of the Nindroids, armor, and a different torso. That sets him apart pretty well from the other Nindroids, and also makes him look like the leader that he is. He is really cool but unfortunately, he comes in quite a few sets for there only being one that looks like him. So, after collecting all the sets, you would have like 3 General Cryptors. The Nindroid is cool, and a good figure to be included in the set. Evil Wu is probably my favorite figure. He has a silver hat, a black beard, and a cyborg-style Sensei Wu face. He was very well designed. Nya's Car: Nya's car had a simple design, but has lots of play features. If you press on the exhaust pipes in the back, flick-fire missiles will shoot out of the sides of the car. It works pretty well, but sometimes they flip up in the air and don't go very far. But other than that, it's really good. The top of the car rotates, and has another missile with the 2 guns on top. The flag is also a very good touch too. The Mech Dragon: The Mech Dragon has some awesome play features, but it has some limitations too. I'll start with the cool features: The big saw blades that are on the front of the wings actually rotate when a certain piece is pushed to the left or right. That's a really cool feature. There is a small 'jail' compartment right in front of the cockpit, which allows a Minifigure to be put inside. There are 2 detachable gliders that come out of the sides of the 'body' of the dragon, and I really like the missile on the top of the Dragon. Now, here are some of the bad parts about the dragon: Both of the wings have kind of a weak connection to the body, so they tend to fall off, which is slightly annoying. After a while, the ball-and-socket joints that connect the head to the body weaken, which makes the head droop. But, other than that, it's pretty good. Overall, this is a really nice set, and a GREAT vehicle for the Overlord and his Nindroids.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Welcome To The Future" This set was the first one that I bought from the lego ninjago line. The mechdragon is a large dragon which I think is nicely colored and has a neat and posable brick-build head. There is a lot of articulation with the legs, and the head, but not as much with the wings. Because the wings do not fold in like ultra dragon or the titanium dragon I found that this set was hard to store/display. Even though the wings were a slight problem for me, there were plenty of other features that were done well such as the prison in the front of the dragon. Unless you know that the hidden prison is a feature then you probably wouldn't notice it. There are also two gliders for the nindroids in the back and a long movable tail. On the ninja's side there is a car which Lloyd and Sensei Garmadon borrowed from Nya's Samurai X cave. There is a seat for Lloyd (that rotates a full 360 degrees) and a place for Garmadon to comfortably sit as well. In the front, two flick missiles are hidden and can be launched from the rear engines. If you are into the rebooted sets then this one would be good for you but otherwise if you want a dragon I would recommend the epic dragon battle! (Epic dragon battle v.s. the mechdragon is a great battle).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Points/Bad point The good point on this Nindroid MechDragon is that the boys love it. The bad point is that it has too many little pieces and is a real pain to put together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST Set EVER!!! I really think the Ninjago creators put a lot of effort into this set. The Dragon is full of excitement and features! But lets first get onto the minifigures! Minifigures: Nindroid - The nindroids are really cool! This is your ordinary Nindroid you get in a lot of these 2014 Wave 1 sets. The printing on the legs are black and have parts of a purple robe and silver metal. The front torso is full of detail including a purple scarf or robe and some robotic inner pieces. One arm is black and the other is silver. The headpiece is super robot looking and the mask is super cool with nice eye detail. General Cryptor - This guy is the leader of all the Nindroids except for the Overborg. He's actually in 3 sets in Wave 1 2014 so he's not that exclusive. But he is really cool mini figure. It's pretty much the same just a little different details and he has a black chest armor on. Sensei Garmadon - This is exclusive to this set for Wave 1 2014 but he is probably going to be one of the most wanted mini figure in this set besides Evil Wu. This is the Garmadon after being evil. He has black jeans and a nice robe torso. He has a green stash on him and some Japanese writing on the right side of his robe. He has a very elder, wise, and serious look on his face which shares some resemblances to his old evil mini figure look barely. He has a lot of grey hair too and he is a super cool mini figure. Lloyd Garmadon - Lloyd Garmadon is in 2 sets for Wave 1 2014. He has plain green pants and a really cool torso with neat designs. He has 2 golden swords in his hand, a green bandana over his bout, and some cool blonde hair like in the show. He also has his classical Lloyd face on too. Evil Sensei - Woah! Look at that! Sensei Wu turns evil! And I'm not quite sure if this is right because I haven't seen the new season yet, but I think the Overborg turns him into a evil sensei. He has black pants, a similar torso to his old versions just there is symbols and colors representing the Nindroid designs. He has a black beard, staff, and a grey sensei hat. He has a half robot face and half human face with red eyes. He also has handcuffs too and overall he is a absolutely awesome mini figure. Main Builds: Nya's Car - And Nya has another secret vehicle! And it is super cool! There is a neat cockpit were Sensei Garmadon sits in and a top seat above the cockpit were Lloyd would sit. Lloyd;s sat is flexible and has a cool flag connected to it and two huge blasters on the right side and a hook flick missile! There are 4 gold and black wheels and golden swords on the front of the car to give it a look of Ninja! On the back of the car there are two orange and grey engines. When you push the engines it activates the 2 blasters beside the cockpit. The blasters will then go up and shoot a flick missile. But it is kind of hard to get it to shoot and sometimes it might get stuck so you have to give the engines a really good flick! Over the car is a nice little build which is a great addition to the set. MechDragon - The MechDragon is absolutely amazing and epic! I love it so much! It may not be my favorite compared to the Epic Dragon/Lloyd's Green Dragon but he is one of my favorites! His face isn't like 1 or 3 pieces like the previous dragons, it's actually made up of a lot of pieces. There are stickers for his eyes and forehead. His eyes are sliver metal which is super unique and cool! His forehead is flu of cool detail and he has a white plain goatee (I think it is) and a grey nose. He has some silver Bionicle eye pieces on the side and silver piece. His bout can open not very easily. So I think his head was really well made! He has 4 legs which are pretty small but neat. He has unique paws which grey and light grey nails. Only two of the paws have nails but they all still look cool. The dragon's tail can move with a function which lets it move back and forth. His tail has purple spikes and black and grey colors with a black point on the back. His tail is kind of small and flimsy but it is cool. On the sides of him there are removable gliders for the 2 nindroids so there are two gliders! The glider can only go on the normal nindroid because he has a piece on the back of him which connects pieces so if you want to use the 2nd glider you have to put that certain piece on another nindroid you have. The front of the dragon is super detailed. There is a printed saw piece on the front and a detailed sticker on the front which is super cool! There is a seat where the Evil Sensei sits or stands in. The front is cover with transparent red pieces and chainsaws! The dragons wings are absolutely epic and full one cool functions. The wings are black and silver and both wings are pretty much the same. The silver wings have red and black on it and the black wings have purple on it. The super cool and my favorite function is the huge giant saws! The saws are black and silver. To work the function you push down a triangular purple piece which moves the saw across some function wheels which makes the saws activated and spin. That is a really fun feature! The dragon is mainly covered with purple, black, and grey colors and the Dragon is so so stunning. Overall I am a huge fan of this set! I have pretty much no problem with the builds in the set but the set is pretty pricy. There are only 691 pieces in the set and it is $90 in the US. 691 pieces is the average price of a $70 set and there is only 5 mini figures which is not a problem especially since you get 2 exclusive figures. So the set is kind of pricy but it is really big so that pretty covers up me getting a good deal on this. I am normally the most excited for a Dragon set in the Ninjago series because they're always amazing and unique. So I defiantly recommend this set to all Ninjago fans and this set is truly stunning! Great job LEGO

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WOW I have to say that I am impressed with this set. When I first saw the picture, I thought it looked a little disappointing and small. But after getting it as a gift from a friend, I started building it and realized how wrong I was. Epitome of foolishness for me, LOL. This set is awesome. I cannot believe I didn't want to buy it. Okay...I'll stop ranting and actually start the review. I didn't really like the tail that much, it was a little flimsy, and I ended up changing out piece 6045988 (at the end of the tail) with piece 4210935, because the element at the tip of the tail kept on flipping upside down. It stays in place a lot better now. I would have liked better flexibility in the tail (more joints) but that's just my opinion. And that joint at the base of the spine/tail also needed some extra support. Some more color and shape on the spine would have been nice, it looks a little bland. The rotating blades on the wings were cool, but they fall off if you're not careful. I love the wing design. The shiny silver elements with the grey and black, accented with purple and red was ingenious. The shape and overall design of the wing was admirable as well. It is by far my favorite part of the dragon. I thought the head was good, but the jaw was a bit on the small side. I liked the pointy element (piece 4653091, I believe) on the end of the snout. It really gave the head its own unique flavor that the other dragons did not have. The neck needed some 'beefing up' as well, it seems a little small compared to the rest of the head. I am inclined to believe that the dragon's feet are a new element as well, are they not? I love them. They are sturdy, large, and compatible with a variety of different things. I would have liked it if the back legs could move, but that is just me. The cannon, I believe, needs a joint so it can move up and down. I might get around to doing that sometime as well. The dragon, as a whole, is an excellent model, and very playable. Except for the tail and a few other small things, it is extremely durable. I would recommend for people who play hard with their sets. It takes up a lot of shelf space because of its wings, which don't fold in, but I like the angle that they are stuck at. As for the vehicle, there is not much to say. It is sturdy, playable, and easy to build. I don't really think any changes needed to be made on it. All in all, a great buy. I love the minifigures, although I do with that Lloyd could have some designs on his leg piece. Most of the Nindroids even had portions of a sash and other small details printed on the legs. I wish the same could go for the ninja. Keep up the great work, as long as you guys make these Ninjago sets, I will buy them. They are amazing, pure and simple. I hope you guys make more waves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ULTRA NINJAGO SET ! :) From the old school sword to sword fighting to the new laser weapon battling these new Ninjago sets are awesome ! I really like the new Nindroid figures and especially the new Ninja outfits. This set is awesome, with the new Nindroid Mech Dragon and Nya's car I find this set one of the best Ninjago sets ever. Totally worth getting but the only con is the big empty space at the back of the Dragon where (as seen in picture) one of the Nindroid's sit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super epic robot Dragon With Robot Ninjas!!!!! This set has many functions like cool spinning saw blades and swinging tail. I like the comment about Fetus. Heroes of Olympus is the best. The whole fact that the dragon is evil is bad. I pretend he is good. Wings are intricately designed and the car has lots of missiles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pfft. "I know! Let's put things boys love into 1 set! Like dragons, robots and ninjas!" That must have been what it was like while thinking for ideas for a NINJAGO set. I mean seriously. This has NOTHING to do with ninjas. You might as well release a new range called "ROBONINJA DRAGONRAIDER LASERFORCE" or something. I hadn't been on the LEGO site for a while so I went on and saw this! Why is Sensei Wu a bad guy? Why do you continue the series of you promised for it ti end? I used to like NINJAGO but not anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome but Pricey This is just awesome! The dragon reminds me of a robot dragon in The Heroes of Olympus book series named Festus. I always loved dragons and this was just awesome. I like how we have good Garmadon and evil Sensei Wu so you can have Sensei Wu and Evil Wu fight and same deal with both Garmadon minifigures. This set is a must have for your Lego collection. It may be pricey, but it's worth the purchase! GET THIS SET!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from i like it I like how lego has come back with ninjago. The idea that the whole story line takes place in the future is really cool, and the whole twist with semi wu is a shocker. If you watched the show parts of the sets make sense, unless you are total haters like some people, not mentioning any names, UHUM! I think lego has really gone all out with their dragon too. I just don't like the empty cavity in the back there could be more thats the only disappointment, but the rest of the set looks good. I also like how they have added new weapons and the new hair pieces. Lego is really starting to transition back to their old and better design specks. Also for those who are immature and judge mental see the age range for the sets next time these sets really grab the attention for those who are meant to buy it, in my case I am a collector of these sets and they have have not started to look trashy and looks like it is worth the cash.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from That's it?! What the heck is this?! Cyborg ninjas, Garmadon is good and the Sensei is evil, modern industry while ninjas still exist, the ninjas are in robotic vehicles with guns?! I'm sorry but this is plain STUPID! The show was always dumb, but at least the sets still had it's ancient Japanese texture (in a way), until now. Even Chima is better than this techno mess of sets and a bad story and show gone worse! I used to like Ninjago but now Even some of the mini-figures are either dumb, moderately cool, or Plain Jane... Now I'm alomst done with Ninjago for good if it wasn't for the Hero Factory quality pieces, and only a few of the characters. Hero Factory Rules over this mess!!!
