Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tom's Review A friend of mind already bought this model Train Set and it is awsome. Immediately I knew I was going to order one for myself. I love trains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Railroad Adventure Being a huge Lego and Train enthusiast, I had my eye on this set for a long time. It is the most expensive Lone Ranger set, but I received this for my birthday, otherwise I would have had to save up for a LONG time. I found the set SOMEWHAT difficult to build, but if you've built a ton of Lego sets before, it shouldn't be too hard. I already have plenty of track, but I thought that it was very good of Lego to include a full loop for those who don't have any track. I found the train EXTREMELY cool and can't stop looking at it. But it's not just a display piece, as I play with the set I can't help but think about the scene in The Lone Ranger Movie where they battle the villains on the rooftops of the train carriages. The Gatling Gun that actually spins definitely challenges our heroes as they try to defeat the villains. If I did have to pick anything wrong with this set it would be: 1. It is difficult to place minifigures in the prison carriage, because the roof does not come off 2. In my opinion, it could do with a few more villainous henchmen. 3. I don't see much use in the exploding rock and the water tower that falls over Overall, a very good set. It looks good, has great play-ability, and is relatively simple to build. Well done, Lego!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old West Fun This Train has a lot of unique pieces and is fun to assemble. I added power by adding a Passenger Car from an older set. Lego has added many details and a few surprises to this set that Lego Builders will enjoy discovering as they create their own Old West experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice Western set I originally planned to buy the Horizon Express or the City Passenger Train and share the building and playing experience with my 5 year old son, who is very much into trains right now. We went to the Lego store and looked at other trains, but I noticed that this train was not only interesting and playable, but it came with tracks. I confess to have yet to see the Lone Ranger movie. Nevertheless, buying this train seemed like a great way to start my son in this type of build. Seven minifigures are included. Of course, you have the Lone Ranger with two revolvers as well as his law badge printing. The famous mask is also printed on the head. His trusted horse Silver is also in the set. There is the option to include the saddle or just use a white brick to fill in the empty slot on the horse. Tonto is also included. He carries what appears to be a watch and a shovel. An interesting crow is mounted on his head. You have the outlaw Butch Cavendish. The hat and hair are on the same piece. His facial expression definitely gives him away as an outlaw. Next is the boy Danny Reid. He comes with a slingshot printed on a 1x2 tile. His mom, Rebecca Reid has nice printing on the dress as well as torso piece. Another outlaw, Latham Cole, has a nice bowler hat and comes with a rather large rifle. Last is Captain J Fuller, a US Army officer. Anyone who is trying to build a Federal army from this time period will love this minifigure. It makes me want to get the small Cavalry Builder set to give him some troops to command. The train consists of four parts. The locomotive is well designed. It gives a good appearance of an old fashioned transcontinental train. I liked the attention to detail such as the bell and the front headlight build. The coal car is nice as well. The hidden compartment is good for playability. The next car contains a gatling gun which also have playability. It can be turned to rotate the barrel. I think the design was also clever. Some silver bars and crystals are also mounted onto this car. The last car contains a prison cell and is designed like a boxcar. The doors slide open. The back has a play feature where it can be "blown off" with a lever. All of the cars are connected by magnet, which hold strongly. The two accessory builds are the water tower and a rock feature. The water tower can be turned over with a handle to simulate a dynamite explosion. The rock feature is designed to come apart as well with a lever. Dynamite sticks are found with the tower, the rock, and the back of the prison car. The set is certainly impressive, and I think the train itself will be the big sell regardless of how well the movie is doing. Many people will appreciate having a western train with some legendary characters. My boys absolutely love the set. Eventually, I would like to get a Lego train and motorize it. One advantage of buying this set is now I have track to help us get started. Needless to say, this set has a lot going for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST LEGO SET I HAVE EVER BUILT This set is just completely fantastic and worth every penny you get great minifigures all of them being main characters and the train itself is just amazing. i love the fact you get 20 train tracks because in an old set i didnt get any. the train is big and you also get added things like the water tower and the exploding rocks which make it evan more worth your money. it takes a while to build but it is still very simple on what to do. it has alot of playability and is just all out fantastic. you also get silver the horse. this is by far the best lone ranger set that i have built so far. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome old west train This old west train is pretty much without a flaw, although it would have been cool to have a passenger car. I like the hiding space in the coal car, and of course the rotating gatling gun is awesome. The jail cell car with the exploding rear wall is also easy to play with. There doesn't appear to be an engineer, but perhaps that's addressed in the film. The exploding rock element's strongest feature is that it attaches to the track so it's not just floating out there. The water tower is very cool, and tips over easily. You also get a nice assortment of minifigs with this set, as well as the usual Lone Ranger and Tonto (who, if you're collecting these sets like I have, you now have like 5 each). If you're a fan of trains or the old west this set is awesome. I have yet to see if I can add power functions to the train, that would make it even cooler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stop that train! This set is so cool. A full train track, 7 minifigures, a horse, 3 wagons and more. Now for the figures: Lone Ranger: Same in all sets except 79110. Carries two revolvers. Tonto: Same in all other sets except 79110. Carries a shovel and a pocket watch. Danny Reid: Danny is exclusive to this set and has an wears a suit. His face is double sided with a normal and scared expression. He carries a tile brick with a printed slingshot on it. Rebecca Reid: Rebecca is also exclusive to this set and has a double sided face with a brave and a scared expression. Butch Cavendish: Butch has a revolver and a hat attached to his hairpiece. His face has an evil smile on one side and a snarl on the other side. He carries a revolver. Latham Cole: Latham is exclusive and wears a black hat. His face has a thick beard and he carries a rifle. Captain J. Fuller: Fuller is also exclusive. He has a hairpiece that is new and exclusive. His torso and legs are new with blue uniform and gold buttons. Fuller's face is also double sided with a determined and angry expression. Fuller has a sword and sheath. Now onto the set. First is Silver the horse who is exactly the same as in set 79106. There is also an exploding rock which blows up into two parts when a TECHNIC lever is pushed down. Dynamite can also be attached to the rock. Next is the water tower which has a large barrel at the top containing water bricks. The tower can be toppled when a brick is pushed back. The tower also has dynamite next to it as well as a shrivelled shrub. The main part of the set is the train. The first wagon is very detailed with a bell and steam horn. The second wagon is the coal car with coal pieces scattered around and a hidden area for Danny. Then there is the gatling gun which rotates increasing the playability factor. Next to that is a barrel, bottle and a crate containing silver nuggets and silver bars. The final wagon has sliding doors and the back blows off. The train is also magnetaically attached and comes with 20 track pieces. Here is my conclusion: Minifigures: 10/10 Set: 10/10 Pros: Figures, train, tower, play features Cons: Stickers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lego Train! Even if you are not a big Lone Ranger fan, this is one of the best train sets Lego has come out with when it comes to overall value. A big disappointment with previous themed train sets (Toy Story, Hogwarts Express) was the lack of track. The kids build the trains, then they just sat there like a building because there was no track to roll them on. Lego seems to have finally understood that all trains run on track, not just sets with Power Functions included. My younger son prefers pushing trains around the track rather than using the PF remote. This set is great. A generous loop of track is included. There are plenty of minifigures, too (another complaint I have had in the past with bigger sets). The set has good detail and playability. Train fans will appreciate the nicely detailed steam engine. In my opinion, the engine and tender are worth about 2/3's of the price of the set, they look so nice. The other two train cars are OK. A train fan will scratch his/her head at the "gun on flat car", but the kids like that. The prisoner car is good, and can be modified easily for a train fan's needs. The water tower is cool. The exploding rock is a little cheesy, but again that's aimed at kids. The build was decent, and it was very satisfying to build the train, setup the track, and play with it. Well done, Lego. Very pleased with this set. It is an outstanding value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! Lego has done it again! I have always wanted a train set and Lego delivers an awesome themed train chase set that is fun to build and play with. Plus the price is great too only 100 and the set comes with full track! Several minifigs included and very detailed. Rare silver elements add a nice touch. A must buy for a starter train set or collector! Thanks Lego!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Train set Mini figure details are very nice. Tonto is really good looking. Silver can stand on its hind leg. Nice spinning Gatling gun. silver bars and nuggets are very cute. It is missing instructions to convert this into RC train set, but it can be done by putting the PF train motor and the AAA battery pack in the coal tender and the IR receiver in the locomotive steam engine. I motorized mine and added LED headlights, too. When motorized this train tends to be top heavy so go slow around the corners. Nitpicks: Smokestack should be bigger and black (see photo). Lego need to have a coupling rod for the counterweight flanged train drive wheels. Why Emerald green? Emerald is a rare color and makes upgrading difficult..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Constitution Train Chase This is a fantastic set for any kid young or old! It was a really fun build, and for the price, the set has a ton of minifigs AND it actually comes with train track!!! Great playability for the kids and will look great on display with the rest of the Lone Ranger sets for adult fans. Great job on this entire series of Lone Ranger sets LEGO!
