Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too many small pieces There are 132 bricks that are the just the 1x1 size. There are 39 standard size bricks (4x2). If you want to make the usual things (eg house) then this kit is useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For LEGO beginners of all ages! As someone relatively new to the vast world of LEGO building, I wanted a set that was basically the art materials for me to use. I decided upon this set, and boy was I pleasantly surprised. Essentially, no matter how old you are, if you want to get into LEGO building, you can't go wrong here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great if Building Something Big There isn't a lot of basic bricks in sets anymore, so this is a good purchase if you need a lot of bricks to build something big. My friend once built a rainbow Empire State Building before Lego Architecture came out. I think this would have been good then to help him build it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Brick Set For Creative Little Hands! This set is the ultimate in basic bricks for encouraging creativity in your child. It comes with no directions, instruction booklets, or guides, just piles of bricks in great colors that any child would love to have. I have been trying to encourage my 6 year old to think outside the "set", in other words, get away from building specific themed sets into items that he only uses on way. This set did just that. He started building a giant "sky-scraper" wall, and then we went on from there. He asked me what he should build next and I would throw out a random object and he would build, until he got the idea that he can build ANYTHING from LEGO. This is the way to encourage creativity, thinking "outside the box", and really develop their building skills. Also, many of the pieces can be worked into your existing sets in the case where a piece has gone missing over time. [Pros] Hundreds of bricks and no rules! Fits any child's (or adult's) building level. Value for your dollar, you get more here than you could in a "pick-a-brick" bucket (or 3). [Cons] Would have been nice if it included a large base plate to build on. Overall -- As a parent, the value of this set goes beyond the pieces/dollar issue and really encourages kids to create their own masterpieces.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the bricks strikes again This is good if your just a starter builder.I think Lego complex bricks deluxe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bricks Galore! This particular item really is good if you are a serious builder like me. The bricks in the set are measured 2x3,1x1,2x4, and 2x2 bricks Great price {500 bricks for only $29.99}.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value! For builders out there this is the box with the best value. The box contains 650 pieces! I would prefer a box with more 1x3s (3622) instead of 2x6s, 1x8s and 1x10s. Lime, green and yellow are not useful to me, but they might be to others. The distribution of bricks is skewed slightly towards white, blue, red, yellow and black bricks, which is a good thing in my case. I'm building a DNA molecule, so I've bought 14 boxes to start with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not enough of the 'new' colours When I was a child you had to settle with a limited amount of colors for your bricks from LEGO. Since we live on the only 'green planet' in the universe (as far as we now) it was always frustrating to realize that most natural objects were impossible to recreate in LEGO. Now - many, many, many years later - LEGO have come to their senses and started to make bricks in the most common colour in nature: Green and Brown! But there are to few of the NEW coloured bricks in this set. In my opinion - there should have been a entire BOX with only natural colours. And LEGO is still a luxury commodity - to be able to make anything worth while you would have to purchase 2 or 3 boxes of this product - and that is an easy 75 EUR (thats 2-3 videogames).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good This is a really good set. It has red, yellow, white, orange, green, lime green blue, brown and black. This is only basic bricks which means its a great add on- especially for building towers, hotels e.t.c for a city. Though I wouldn't only get this set. 650 is a lot of bricks for only $35.00 canadian dollars but still can be cheaper. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: Lots of colours lot of pieces(but since there are a lot of colours, there arent many pieces for each colour) Cons: since there are a lot of colours, there arent many pieces for each colour can be a bit cheaper better as an add on

Rated 2 out of 5 by from DISAPPOINTING DESCRIPTION DOESN'T SHOW HOW MANY SMALL BRICKS ARE IN THE BOX. BOUGHT THIS FOR MY SON FOR SCHOOL PROJECT BUT NOWHERE NEAR ENOUGH LARGE BRICKS. VERY DISAPPOINTED. WOULD RETURN IF THE COST WASN'T SO HIGH.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice! This set is great for playing, becuase it comes with a wide amount of bricks and peices for great make-your-own sets. Pros: Great amount of bricks that makes great play-time. Cons: None, really This is a great set for people with good imaginations, and it would make my wish-list any day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy. On it's own, it's "good". When added to other bulk bricks or sets, it's "great"...mostly because of the small bricks and the colour selection. One of my big complaints with some of the brick buckets in the past, was the complete lack of smaller bricks. This set eliminates that problem. Of course, some folks may say there are TOO MANY small bricks... Well, I guess you can't please everybody...and, considering that the large bricks have been readily available in the past, I think this set is a fair way to go. I can easily see this being a 'multiple purchase' set for many folks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bulk bricks I think there's a few to many small bricks and not nearly enough of the larger one's. At a per brick price of around 4.5 cents, it's still a good buy. Here's what you get; 1X1 = 132 1X2 = 224 1X3 = 36 1X4 = 26 1X6 = 10 1X8 = 6 2X2 = 136 2X3 = 36 2X4 = 39 2X6 = 3 2X8 = 2

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Lego Purchase Ever!! I bought this for my family to enjoy and we love it! Its a bargain too because if you look at it this way, 1 brick =10 cents, so 650 bricks = $65! You save $35!!!
Date published: 2009-12-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value if your going by sets 1 piece = 10 cents. Is this set was like that it would be 650 x .10 = $65. Since this set is only $30 you save $35. Overall good value for bricks. Great for building mosiacs. ( with bright colors).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The More, the Merrier! 650 bricks for $30 - that is a great deal. This set comes with tons of 1x1s, 1x2s, 2x2s, and a few 1x3s, 1x4s, 1x6s, 1x8s, 2x6s, and one 2x8. Red, white, and the other 'basic' colors have more bricks than some of the newer colors. (Reddish brown, lime green, orange, etc.) Although it could come with some more large bricks, I like it how it is. Now, for the PROS and CONS. PROS -Lots of bricks - I'd pay $60 dollars for this -Different colors -Lime green :) CONS -Not enough large bricks -Not enough darker colors, (It needs more black and brown and it needs gray, tan, and other colors.) -Not enough 1x2s (But that's just me.) This set is great for starting a collection - or expanding onto one, as I have. If you have the money and the patience to buy and sort out two or three of these, go ahead. You won't regret it. But I will be jealous of you. Hope this helped, ~Legolas

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Enough Larger Bricks For the amount of bricks in the box, this set is a bargain. However most of them are of a small size which is this set's downfall. I have bought nine of these to use simply as filler bricks and would highly recommend this product for that purpose. As a first box this box would be useless. It would be better if it contained more larger bricks and maybe was available in two brick types; one full of just x 2 bricks and another with just x 1 bricks. It is worth reading the other reviews that list what you actually get in the box before buying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice! Pretty cool, it comes with alot of bricks, and bricks are essential to any lego town or set. Pros lots of colors, Long 10x1 bricks 10x2 Cons NONE TGB- out
Date published: 2009-05-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of Bricks This is a nice collection of standard bricks in a range of colors. There's lots of small bricks though and there should be more larger bricks. But it is helpful for building things here and there. Overall it is rather useful to have a collection of standard bricks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice but TOO many small pieces This is what you get for the money.. 132 1x1, 224 1x2 (that is 356 of the 650 pieces) 136 2x2, 36 1x3, 36 2x3, 26 1x4, 39 2x4, 10 1x6, 3 2x6, 6 1x8, and 2 2x8. Nice mix of colors. White, blue, red, and yellow were the only colors with pieces larger than 2x4. Wish LEGO would sell more larger pieces in their sets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Product This is the first thing I decided to get online since I wanted to relive my childhood a bit. While the colors and variety of blocks are great, don't count on solely buying just this pack since there aren't quite enough large bricks. This is a great product to have, though, if you need small bricks!
Date published: 2008-07-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from there are many ways you could use these bricks you could use them make repairs and add-ons or you could build buildings and modern art or you could do all of this overall this set is great but it could have used some more bricks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect to fir my Lego Mindstorms NXT This is what I was looking for! It fits perfent with my Mindstorms set, i can make my robots now go over walls, or build a wall over the motors to muffle them. This a product I give two thumbs-up! I love the quality touch of Legos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of bricks to expand your creativity With 9 different colored pieces and 650 of them, this brick box is a great starter to someone's Lego collection, or perhaps and addition to a collection. Most brick sets are very expensive but this set costs only 30 dollars. Get it while you can, because I guarantee they won't last long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This set is incredible for new lego builders because of all the pieces. It's about 26 pieces per american dollar. If you want to build big things, this set is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lego Bricks For Everyone This set is the one for you if you need a lot of plain basic bricks. It has a varity of nine colers so it provides lots of building time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect what can i say? its a perfect box set with the basic bricks. i think this one is better because you dont get any of those bricks with the eyes on them or any other designs.
