Anne of Green Gables is rated 5 out of 5 by 3.
This is the unforgettable tale — and a timeless classic — of young Anne living in 19th century Prince Edward Island. Starring Megan Follows, Colleen Dewhurst and Richard Farnsworth, Anne of Green Gables explores the life of Anne Shirley, an independent and headstrong girl. When Marilla and Mathew Cuthbert adopt an orphan boy to help Matt work the farm, it’s  Anne that arrives at the train station instead — but it’s a mistake that no one regrets in this fun and faithful adaptation of Canada’s favourite book. This fabulous DVD edition features director commentary, original promo reels, production stills, original cast auditions, original previews and trailers and loads of other features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ann of Green Gables One of the best movies that I have ever seen. I recommend everyone in the family to watch this (not to many movies that a whole family can sit and watch together)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for every Canadian A classic Canadian tale about a girl growing up in the time of horse and buggies, puffed sleeves and proper Victorian ettiquette. Set in Prince Edward Island a girl who is orphaned is mistakenly sent to live with a childless pair who actually ordered a boy to help out with the farm chores. Anne with an 'e' decides to change their mind. This is a hilarious and touching story that gets better with every viewing. The language is appropriate for the time but might be more complicated than average children's shows of today but the emotions come through in every scene. If you saw this as a child then watch again -- you will get all the jokes you missed the first time.
