Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great War Movie I have heard everybody say it is an over used topic. Well, I AGREE, but the way director Edward Zwick makes this movie it isn't. This movie isn't about the war, it,s about survival. The acting in this movie is top notch, great. Daniel Craig I think should be nominated for the academy award. Liev Schreiber did a great job as the other brother and Jamie Bell was great as well. This was just a great movie to watch all around.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great acting mixed with an overused storyline. Let me start this off by saying that this was one of my most anticipated of '08 and there was a bit of bittersweetness after I watched it. Based upon the true story of 3 Jewish brothers in World War 2. What starts off as a story of survivalism turns into groups of Jewish Europeans joining the Bielski brothers in a Polish forest. Director Edward Zwick (Blood Diamond, The Last Samurai) captures the environment of World War 2 and forestry perfectly. But the real credit of the movie's success was the acting by the Bielski brothers. Although Daniel Craig gives a great performance, Liev Schreiber stole the show. Overall an alright story, albeit a true story with some top notch acting. A must for any WW2 fans.
