Description

A satirical comedy that pokes fun at the influence science-fiction shows like STAR TREK have had on their audience. It is almost twenty years since GALAXY QUEST was cancelled, and the cast members now earn their livings appearing at conventions and grand openings of stores decked out in their old costumes and characters. No one is happy with the way their careers have evolved, and when an alien race called Thermians arrive, things begin to spiral even further into confusion. It appears that the Thermians have mistakenly appropriated the show's culture as their own, thinking GALAXY QUEST was actual fact. Desperate for help in battling the evil General Sarris, they bring the actors with them into space to accomplish this task. A surprisingly smart and funny send-up of the science-fiction culture and the influence television has on the world at large.
