Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An Emotional Tour de Force The story of the Rwandan Genocide is heartbreaking on its own. Anybody who knows the story knows it is humanity at its worst. Watching this movie captures the raw failure of humanity at its core. What makes this movie that much more emotional is the core story about Don Cheadle's character. he is an ordinary man forced to be a courageous man. He is the driving force behind this film. Cheadle masters the accent and does not try to be super man with the role. He embraces the ordinary man aspect of the role. He just wants to do the best he can in an impossible situation. Nick Nolte was a let down for me. I know the story of Romeo Dallaire, the person his character was named after. I was expecting a great performance, but he was just tough the whole time. I praise the filmmakers for not holding back in showing the brutality of the event. Humanity needs to see how it failed. Overall this is an extremely powerful film powered by the story of an extraordinary man.
