Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best of 2010; highly recommended. Move movies that are released today are generally filled with a very basic plot line and without much, if any, originality to it. You have the good guys and the bad guys, fill in the action scenes and maybe some drama and that's about it. Inception had more than that right from the concept of the movie, the ideas, the details and the great script. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a professional thief, except he's not your average every day bank robber. He steals top secret information from people's sub-conscious for corporations and companies. He seeks to clear his name from events of his past but in order to do so he must undertake one of his toughest jobs yet: planting an Inception. I enjoyed the movie mainly because there was a lot of originality in it, from the idea of the totem, the layers in a dream and Inception itsself. Movies don't often bring about discussion such as this. It's is usually, "That was nice." or "That was bad". For inception it brought about talk of dreams, the concept of inception; can we really control our dreams to that extent? It reminded me of when the Matrix first came out - it's these radical new ideas that make these movies a great watch. The special effects were good. They were not mind blowing but they suited the movie without being too over the top. If the goal was to portray the dream world as our creative landscape, then they got it dead on. The acting in the movie was good; it wasn't great or anything exceptional and it definitely wasn't bad. I find as of late the movie choices and roles of Leonardo DiCaprio seem to be great, from Blood Diamond to Shutter Island; a movie I find that is very closely related to Inception. Inception was a great watch and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has not watched it yet. It is by far one of the best films of 2010.
