Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Workout! I love this workout video by Jillian! The first video (level 1) is perfect for beginners, and those who are out of shape. It might be a bit too easy for those who regularly exercises - you might want to jump to the higher levels. I did level 1 and my thighs, abs, butt and arms were sore the next day! The only thing I did not like was my knees hurt a bit after this workout.. I think it was because of the jumping jacks. The thing I like the most about all of Jillian Michaels' video is that she will motivate you throughout the whole workout and everything she says is powerful enough to keep you going. This is definitely worth my money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great workout! This is my first DVD workout (and my first review. I joined the community solely so that I could post this). I'd heard great things about 30DS on a fitness forum and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad that I did. The 20-minute workout made it reasonably easy to fit into the day, and the multiple levels ensured that I kept having something to strive towards and didn't get bored. Jillian always makes sure that there's one person doing modified versions of the moves for those who need to take it a little easier or work out with lower impact. I lost pounds and inches sticking to this workout for 30 days, and now I'm giving some of her other DVDs a try. Some people find Jillian annoying, but I've found that she is focussed and committed--and has a good knack for encouragement in all the right places (usually just as I was wondering if I needed to take a breather). For anyone who gives it a try and finds their legs super sore (to the point that I wondered how badly I had to go to the bathroom because it hurt that much to sit down), I kept pushing through Day 2 and Day 3, and woke up on Day 4 feeling just fine. (The fitness forum I use suggests that anywhere from 3-6 days is pretty normal for most newbies.) You can definitely tell that you're stretching and toning muscles! I strongly recommend this workout.

The workouts come in 3 levels and withing those levels, there are modifications for those who need them. I was surprised how much I hurt after my first workout - it really targeted important muscle groups.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jillian Rocks! This DVD is worth every cent. Jillian is an excellent trainer, I've used many workout DVDs and Jillian beats them all, hands down. The workouts are 25 min long each, which is perfect for us busier folk or ones who don't want to kill themselves at the gym for three hours, it's not too short and not too long, the duration is perfect. I am currently still doing the level one workout, I find it challenging but not too challenging, I'm looking forward to progressing to the other levels. These workouts WILL make you sweat and they will make your muscles burn. You will see results in your endurance and your body very quickly from day one, just like Jillian says in the intro, I feel a huge difference since I first started. I love working out now, and even when I'm so tired at the end of the day, that 25 min with Jillian is not too much to ask of myself, and it goes by quicker and easier than you would ever think! All in all, you can't go wrong with this workout. It's a great investment for so little money.If you want a simple straight forward workout that will give you the right amount of challenge and get you results, then by all means, buy this DVD! Jillian keeps you motivated and gives you results, and all for a great price, with just a very small time committment.What more could you ask for? All you need is an exercise matt and some handweights. That's it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Work Out I recently started using this DVD as a way to keep away the holiday pounds. It is a great work out for people of all fitness levels. The DVD itself comes with three different workouts and despite what people say, Jillian does offer modifications to the exercises for people of different fitness and level. Using her 3-2-1 method, Jillian packs in 20 minutes of intense exercise for each of the three levels, alternating between strength, cardio and abs. Believe me you WILL feel the burn. I lost 7 pounds in the first 3 days, but then it slowed down once my body adjusted to the activity. She knows exactly when I was ready to give up, and what to say to keep me pushing through.

The high intensity workout are tough, but I feel so great when I'm done! I was already pretty active and a pilates regular, but I'm getting my butt kicked and I'm only on level 1 right now! Definitely worth it!

I bought this dvd because during the summer I am very busy, and have lost the privilege of the college gym. I've only been doing this workout for going on 3 days now, but I've already noticed my endurance has changed. I believe this dvd is for anyone who has given up on dvd workouts; this one will change your mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenging Workout... This is an excellent DVD to do at home. There are 3 workouts on the DVD at 20 minutes each and all you need are a workout mat (or not if you have a soft floor surface like carpet) and a pair of hand weights. The 3 levels should be labelled Challenging, More Challenging, Most Challenging (there is no easy, medium, hard) - the concepts are simple, but the combination of exercises get more difficult as you progress through the workout. For a short 20 minute workout, I can feel the effects as my muscles positively buzz for long afterward. An excellent DVD, I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to do an effective workout at home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jillian is Awesome! I absolutely love this workout. It is just over 20 minutes so it can easily be incorporated into my day. (I prefer the morning because then I feel great all day!). She has modifications of some of the harder moves so even those starting out can do everything. I am currently at level 2 and sweat my butt off...literally! With doing this workout 4-5 times a week and jogging 2-3 times a week I have lost 18 lbs in 4 months. I love her no nonsense approach to weight loss, if you don't do it you don't get results. You don't need much to get started, just some hand weights (whatever you are comfortable with) and a mat if you are on a hard surface. I would recommend this to anyone. Can't wait for level 3!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No excuses! Whether you're just getting started, getting back, or finding yourself crunched for time - this workout video will whip you into better shape in record time! Jillian wastes no time and makes no bones about making you work, and work hard! Her truthful approach that hard work = results will have you sweating and sore in the best way possible! These workouts are not for the feint of heart, but the levelled approach and offered modifications make success with this program attainable and acheivable for everyone. You'll need a set of hand weights and a mat if exercising on a hard surface. The models in the video use the same weight for the entire workout - I found I had more success using different weights for different exercises in order to challenge myself. This is by no means a need, but a preference. This video also provides a great set of workouts for when you'e feeling strapped for time - you can almost always squeeze 20 minutes in, if you're realistic and want results. I've also turned to them when I've been a little under the weather but still wanting a workout but not sure if I would last any length of time; it's easy to push for 'only' 20 minutes. As well, if you're not ready to invest in one of her longer workout videos, you can also piggy back 2 or three of these smaller workouts to increase your total workout length. No matter your fitness level, this will be one video you will turn to time after time. A "must' in everyone's fitness collection.

I don't usually write reviews, but after doing this DVD for a few weeks, alternating between my own circuit workout on the "off" days, I have lost inches and pounds. Sometimes I'll do my hour long circuit and then follow it up with this workout if I have time. You work hard, but seriously, it's only a little over 20 minutes...who doesn't have 20 minutes??? There are 3 "Levels" on the DVD and I'm only just toying with Level 2. Still do Level 1 then if I have enough energy, I'll take a peak at Level 2...if I don't, I don't feel guilty because I quite literally am working my ass off in Level 1. It's enjoyable to follow and not boring that's for sure. If you want to get in shape you have to work hard. She's no-nonsense!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A definite have for your workout DVD collection I was skeptical about workout DVD's. Then I bought Jillian's "Backside and Frontside for Beginners" - what an awesome workout. I started seeing results fast. So I decided to give this one a try. Even if you made it through her beginner DVDs with flying colours - this one truly gives you a run for your money. You get your heart rate up fast, the moves are not too difficult, but very effective and keep your heart pounding! I love the fact that it's not a long workout session like some other exercise DVDs. Only critique would be that the cool-down and stretching is minimal at best. I'm big on stretching. So if you have no problems doing that on your own - you're well on your way to "being shredded". Overall: it's a great workout DVD and I would suggest to anybody to give it a shot!

She's stepped it up a notch by incorporating 2 exercises in 1 to get a really good workout for the short 20 minute shred. A few of the exercises, Jumping jacks, skip rope without the rope, squats... It may sound difficult or easy but there's 3 levels of intensity. Fabulous workout, and easy to fit into your busy day...

The workout is designed to activate large muscle groups along with the smaller ones so that nothing is left out. I highly recommend this dvd for both beginners and seasoned athletes. It will give you all a run for your money and is worth every single penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Harder than you expect! Level 1 has kicked my butt, in a really good way! I bought this a few months ago and just started to use it last week. I wish I started earlier! I was sore after the first workout and had to do alternate days. Jillian is very encouraging, without being condescending or annoying. The music keeps you going, but doesn't overwhelm or get repetitive. I feel really motivated to keep doing this tape and look forward to being able to move up in levels and do harder workouts. The only downside to this tape: Having to watch/wait out the segment right at the beginning where Jillian is explaining how the levels work. You can NOT skip over this section to get straight to the workout. Best 25 mins ever!

I'm amazed at what a great workout this is- and the only equipment you need is a set of handweights and a mat (if you don't have carpeting)!! I workout 5 days a week and I'm in pretty good shape; I've tried MANY workouts, and this one beats them all. I admit that I was sore after the first day of level 1! It looks so easy, but it's not. I'd recommend this DVD to people who are in moderate to good shape who want to lose that last 10-15 pounds or who want to turn that flat stomach into 6 pack abs! And did I mention that you see results after only a few sessions. Dont be discouraged if your body is aching after the first workout, it won't last. 5 stars Jillian Michaels!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! Jillian Michaels is a popular trainer from The Biggest Loser TV show. While I don't watch the show, I read a bunch of reviews for this DVD and so, it looked like a winner. And I wasn't disappointed! The DVD consists of three circuit training workouts, each equaling 20min in length. Each circuit is 6min long; 3min of strength, 2min of cardio, and 1min of abs. There are three levels, from easier (but not easy) to hard, and yep, I found level 3 to be really intense. What I really like about this DVD, are her cues on good form, her safe and controlled exercises, and her very unique take on basic strength and cardio moves. A lot of her cardio are fun polymeric moves, which of course, helps keep the heart rate up and gets it up there FAST. For me, it’s so tough to get to a gym, so it's nice to have a DVD like this to introduce new moves, and definitely for motivation to workout hard. Highly recommend this one!

I thought I could breeze through rather easily as I normally do cardio and weights at the gym. Let me tell you...this was HARD but a good challenge. I'm currently on Level 1 and anxious to move onto the next couple of levels. If you want a great workout completed with just a few minutes of your time, this is the DVD to get.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Video got this dvd on sale in walmart glad got it as soon I brought home and used it it wasnt easy at first but I did every night before bedtime and had good sleep it helps alot and felt bit changes .One problem is I aint pleased is No Closed Captioned which it was said on the dvd I dont know why. Jillian does help me alot in postive way.

I cannot say enough about this DVD- i am on day 12 of level one and for someone who thought they were in pretty good shape...needless to say i was wrong! My cardio and endurance have improved soooo much over the past 12 days and i am definitely feeling stronger and seeing positive changes in my body and overall strength. If you are willing to commit to what sometimes can feel like a gruelling 20 minutes a day this DVD is for you and it is absoloutely worth it- you will be amazed at how quickly you begin to see your endurance, strength and physical fitness improve. My goal is to begin level two on day 15 and i'll post more information about the workout as i progress for anyone who is interested in finding out more! Wish me luck!!

My sister's hairdresser told us about this DVD and we knew we had to try it. 20 minutes may not sound like a long time, but please don't let it fool you because Jillian has you moving in some ways for the whole time. An excellent video, just make sure you're disciplined because this DVD is no joke and will definately beat you back into shape if you let it!

I don't think it would be possible to complete this workout in the 30days and NOT be blown away by the results.
