The winner of multiple awards from the National Society of Film Critics, Bergman's insight into a marriage, its dissolution, and the subsequent relationship which develops after the couple is "officially" divorced.

Notes

"Scenes from a Marriage" was originally directed for Swedish television, and had a 5 hour running time (6 episodes at 50 minutes each). For the theatrical release, Bergman had the story edited down to 168 minutes. Rated BBFC 15 by the British Board of Film Classification. Voted by Best Picture by the National Society of Film Critics.
