An epic motion picture account of the life of the Roman slave, Spartacus, who led an army of slaves in rebellion against the Roman Empire. The film's stunning music score was composed by Alex North. Academy Award Nominations: 6, including Best Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture. Academy Awards: 4, including Best Supporting Actor--Peter Ustinov.

Notes

Color by Technicolor; shot in Super Technirama 70, lenses by Panavision. Originally not rated, however some versions have been re-rated MPAA PG-13. Additional credit: Valles (costume suppier). Rated BBFC PG by the British Board of Film Classification.
