Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Show I recently just started watching True Blood. I am currently on the first season and soon to be on season two. I wasn’t too sure on this show while watching the first few episodes but once I got more into it I couldn’t stop watching. The story line is very interesting; it’s not a ‘typical’ vampire show which I enjoy considering every vampire show/movie is similar. You have to be able to handle gory situations when watching because it can be intense sometimes. I don’t know why I waited so long to watch the True Blood serious; it is truly a great series. A lot has happened during season 1, I’m excited to see what happens in the next episodes!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Series if you LIKE VAMPIRES!! You have to like vampire stories to really get into this kind of series. It has quite a bit of sex in this series and blood so If you don't like either don't buy this set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! I recently re-watched the first season of TrueBlood and I must say that the season gets better with the second viewing. I do believe that it has spoiled me for any other vampire movies or shows. It is steamy, sexy and funny as all get out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My guilty pleasure! I can't believe I waited this long to watch True Blood! It is fabulous! Anna Paquin does a great job as Sookie and the show decently follows the books. Highly recommend ;)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved it!! I LOVE all books and DVD's on Vampires. I have been reading Vamp. books for a long time and finally a good series about them. This is worth buying if your into that kind of stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A dose of V for everyone Of all the vampire flicks out there right now, this one is by far the best. No glittering fools, simply the original vampires equipped with fangs, and gorgeousness. This is no highschool vampire drama, this is the real thing, plus a sexy southern accent. Accompanied by shapeshifters, telepaths, and other creatures, True Blood is the supernatural, sexy thriller that will satisfy any vampire love's thirst for more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Repulsive and vulgar I only watched the first two episodes before deciding not to watch the rest of it. I'll admit that the main vampire storyline was interesting, but I found the frequent nudity and sex scenes to be too repulsive, vulgar, and unnecessary. I would recommend that this item be restricted to adults only and I'm hoping this review serves as a warning to people that are sensitive to sexual content. I think this DVD series belongs in an Adult video store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time Well Wasted This show quickly became my guilty pleasure. Like the books, the show has some structural weak points (the acting and the accents leave a lot to be desired) but the plot is addicting and the cliffhangers and the end of each episode will keep you watching. I find Anna Paquin's portrayal a little irritating (Sookie is either mind-numbingly energetic or showing her independence through anger) and Alexander Skarsgard is sadly underused as Eric but everything comes together to create a show that while not great television is still an interesting hour each week.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really got into it. This is the series about Sookie and her whole crazy town. Vampires have just "come out" so to speak. Sookie quickly falls for Bill, a vampire, and soon most of think that she is at the very least crazy for doing so. Making it worse is that she can hear everyone's thoughts. At the same time someone is going around town and killing off people who had had dealings with vampires, and the killer soon has Sookie at the top of his list. The killer also starts framing Sookie's clueless brother Jason for all the murders. Therefore to save her life and Jason's, Sookie is trying to find the killer before he finds her. I found it a little slow in the first couple shows as they set up the premise. There are lot's of great secondary characters and sub-plots. I found myself laughting a lot at the really dry, humour. By the very end I found myself wanting so much more. Since I jsut missed season two, and am waiting for the dvd's to come out. This was recommended to me by a couple of people, and I recommend it myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True feeling!!!!!!!!!!!! Get the Blanket and Popcorn out and grab the guy you love to watch this with you. Funny, Romantic, Suspense and Drama all rolled into one. I would recommend this to anyone, Stays pretty close to the books, but as usual the books are always better. Enjoy :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exciting, Bloody and Full of Suspense The series described as Twilight's "bloodier older sister" makes its own way in the world. Much of its success is owed to Anna Paquin (Canadian!) who does a stellar job portraying the telepathic Sookie Stackhouse. Fans of Charlaine Harris' novels will not be disappointed (even though the series features many changes including added characters) and those who haven't read the Southern Vampire Series could be turned on to it because of the first few episodes (as I was). I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new thrilling, out-of-the-ordinary addiction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Addicting I read the first book in the series, and then decided to buy the DVD to see what the hype was. Well this was one time that the show lived up to the hype. HBO keeps its program standards high with True Blood. I had to watch them all over the weekend and I will watch them again and again. I can't wait for season 2 to be released on DVD.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from !!! Awesome!!! HBO has done it again! The actors bring all the characters to life! Like most things based on books I do wish they would have left somethings in and not changed others but they still make it work. I can't wait for season two!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Book-to-Television Transition Having read the Sookie Stackhouse series, I admit I had trepidation upon watching the television show, but within an episode or two, I was hooked. Anna Paquin delivers as telepathic bar waitress Sookie Stackhouse, and manages the fine line between Southern Proper Lady and Modern Girl well, and certainly she sizzles on screen with her co-stars. A lively woman with a gift/curse of reading minds who quickly gets in over her head with the Vampire world, Sookie is a blast to watch, and the direction and dialogue of the show crackles with solid delivery. The addition of Tara left me somewhat befuddled - I'm not sure the show needed an extra character not in the book, but by the mid-season, I was enjoying her storyline as well, and I appreciated the back-story and inclusion of LaFayette in the first season (which contains book one of the book series, as well as the start of book two). I look forward to next season.
