As bands ironically named after pop culture has-beens go, Chuck Norris Experiment is no Mr. T Experience. Unfortunately, their doubly derivative name is also the real spark of actual wit of invention on their debut album. Tilling the same furrow of hard rock-infused garage punk as the D4, Jet, or any number of other bands, Chuck Norris Experiment is going for a fusion of AC/DC and the Stooges, but they're hampered by a lack of really good songs (it seems like every single song here is built on the same set of riffs, just in a subtly different order) and lead screamer Chuck Ransom's anonymous punk-guy vocals. It takes some doing to turn a song titled "Ugly Motherfucker Looking Just Like You" into something boring, but sadly, Chuck Norris Experiment manage that.
