As part of Chess Records' 50th anniversary celebrations, the His Best album profiling Sonny Boy Williamson covers his material between the mid-'50s until his death in 1965. The great harmonica player sounds vital and at his best when all these songs are strung together. The opening "Good Evening Everybody" sets the tone with a great blues cruise and harp breaks. "All My Love in Vain" and "Bring It on Home" appear here too, making this a great representation of this artist's final era.
