I ordered what was the "last" pair and instead recieved a damaged and open box with NO headphones inside. That's right I paid for the Urbanears box. I've never had this happen. Back to Amazon.ca it is for me. Wow.

Been wanting to purchase these for a while and finally ended up doing so. When they arrived, the Urbanears box they came in was filthy as if it had been sitting in a warehouse on a shelf for years. The tape was open on the top also. Had me questioning if they had been opened and used. Not very pleased by that. Anyways, I tried them out and unfortunately I was a little further disappointed, by the sound quality.. They aren't as good as I was expecting, after comparing the specs to other headphones. They sound sort of muffled. I've used $20 headphones that sound better than these, sadly. For comfort, they're comfortable for the first while of wearing them but then I find they start to hurt my ears eventually. I guess for the sale price they're alright... but I DEFINITELY wouldn't purchase them for the regular price.

I just received my Plattan Urbanears headphones from Indigo. The sale price was good, and the sound and comfort are good. Two observations may be disappointing to others, as they were to me: 1. This is not the PLUS model (I did not know there was such a model) designed specifically for Apple products. The PLUS model has a volume control & skip function on the headphone cord. This is the regular model that simply has a mic and pause button on the cord. I find adjusting the volume one of the most important things one does when wearing headphones, especially if you are balancing listening to music with carrying on life while moving around your surroundings -- walking, for instance. You may want to turn up a favourite song or adjust to respect your fellow transit commuter. (You can hold down the pause button on this regular model, which engages the speech-controlled feature on many iOS devices. There are quite a few things iOS can do at that point through voice command (next song skip, time and artist/track enquiries, etc) but volume control does not appear to be one of them, as that is handled physically on the Apple (and presumable the Plattan PLUS) headphone remotes.) 2. The cord is pretty short. If you are plugging into something in your shirt or jacket pocket, you are going to be OK, but in a device in your bag, or a computer on your desk, and you're going to find it rather a restrictive situation. (You might be able to find an extension for the mini plug that supports the mic feature, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to find such a cord, and it would not match the nice braided fabric finish or colour, both nice features of the Plattan headphones.) Another consideration is the rather isolating aural design, blocking out things around you, perhaps too much for some people. I would not suggest you expect to hear anything or anyone with these on, even when the volume is quite low. This includes a phone ringing, doorbell, car honk or someone nearby trying to get your attention. Some people have complained that they are just too tight. Users with a small to average size head will probably agree that these are a little snug for extended wearing. They sit *on* your ears rather than around your ears, like much larger headphones do. If I had paid full price for these, I would return them and opt for the Apple-tuned ones, or reconsider the options out there with a softer 'grab' on the head and longer cord.
